E-mail I have just sent the club regarding tickets for villa.
I have attended 5 or 6 away games for 10 years until last season where I done 4. Now I'm at the back of the queue for villa tickets
I am emailing to make a complaint with regards to the way the club are allocating away tickets.
my mate andI have been a season ticket holder for approx 11 years and have attended many away games over the years to all parts of the country.
We have not attended any away games this season due to work and family commitments, but seem to be at the back of the queue for Aston villa tickets. Behind a lot of fans who have just started watching the club this season.
I attended about 4 games last season which knocks me out of the first round of selling. After this the criteria changes to this season's attendance of 2 games.
My understanding is that approx 1300 attended 6 or more last season. Which is less than our allocation. Surely if you are using last season as the original criteria this should continue to 5 or more, 4 or more etc before going on sale to 'new' supporters.
I have been offered by a few people to use their fan no, but obviously this is against club rules and does not help me accumulate games before the bigger games.
I AM absolutely disgusted that after over 11 years support of the club home and away I am being overlooked for the support of new fans.
I honestly believe the system needs to be looked at as I know a lot of fans who have bought gold membership and a few away tickets just for the opportunity to go to old Trafford, anfield etc. The only income the club are seeing from this is booking fees and the gold membership cost.
A reply would be appreciated
Thank you

An answer to your post, you should of gone to six away's last season, just wait for the next batch to go on sale you might be lucky then, Villa is a close game for us so I agree with the club for being loyal to the fans that went to six games or more last season

Its not the clubs fault you missed several aways because if work isit? Fair play to them for looking after the ones who attended regulary

youv been offered a fan number so take it unless of course your one of the ones looking to accumulate aways for Old Trafford and Anfield

I totally agree with the 6 games I didn't say that.
My problem is after the 6 games it goes to supporters who have been twice this season. A lot of these are new supporters who have never been away until now. Surely if the original criteria is last season it should work through who attended last year

""overlooked for the support of new fans"".
Don't get me started......
You should get some credit for the length of time you have held a season ticket, put you in front of the johnny come latelys
good luck with your attempts

Mate obviously I want to accumulate to be able to go old Trafford and anfield etc. My problem is it's being offered to gold memberswith 2 away trips before season ticket holders who have accumulated over 50 away trips in their time supporting city. I know this ain't a lot compared to some, but it's a lot more than a new supporter who has been to 2 away games

I can see where your coming from but from the clubs point of view at what point do they stop using last years games? There has to be cut off point at some stage and they have started to do it with Villa, this years 3 aways so far are not exactly big games so fair play to those who travelled

Don't worry I will take the fan number I have been offered.
I think it's a valid point though that gold members are putting nothing in to the club apart from the £40 fee if they are only doing away trips.
All season ticket holders should be offered prior to any gold members

agree with you 100% sid,i have 5 aways last year so miss out on the first pick, and i've only been to fulham this year so miss the second pick,i'll have to wait til the criteria changes
it could be a catch 22 you can't get tickets coz you haven't got the aways and you can't get aways coz you can't get the tickets

season ticket holders of 5 years + should get some credit for ther loyalty when it comes to the allocation of away tickets

Why do u keep bringing up season tickets, what if your a season ticket holder for 15 years and never been to one away game and you get a ticket but a person whos been a season tickrt holder for 2 years been to every away gamr the last 2 seasons and doesnt get a ticket, what gives the person who been a holder without away games over that over person, the club always going to look after the regulars, cus there be the ones still going after the prem

http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/club/customer_charter/Take a look at this. In the away matches section
To me a gold member is the equivalent of an away travel member.
States away matches will be prioritized to ambassadors then season ticket holders then away travel.
How is a away travel member being offered tickets over a season ticket holder regardless of how many games they been too.

There are those who purchase season tickets only to attend home games and have no intention of going away and therefore would not purchase Away Membership. Perhaps it should be those who are Away Travel Members and Season Ticket holders??
The criteria will never suit everyone and I do feel for those who are a game short here and there to qualify.

A season ticket holder should have priority end of.
Granted they need restrictions
But maybe it should be season ticket with x away games
Then season ticket general sale
Then gold member general sale
As it states in their company charter

This is a tricky 1. People who travel away reguarly should be rewarded with priority but i think the club got this 1 wrong by jumping from 6 last year to 2 this year like they have. I do think it should at some stage move to away games this season but the way they have done it is drastic to say the least. It should dropped down in order of last years games ( 6 then 5 then 4 and so on) before jumping to this year or it should have gone to something like 3 last year as well as 2 this year to try and bring it inline gradually. I done 5 last year and 1 this year so far so miss out on both criteria by 1 game which is annoying but thats not the clubs fault, i just think they could've structured it a bit better

Similar f**k up with the Fulham tickets open to any ST holder - I been to 4 always last season, 2 this, ST etc but as I was in Portugal the day they come out I misused out - until the 650 went on sale s few weeks later

Worth the wait that!

Not sure where out I misused something but you get the gist!!

I think the club have worked this one fair, a few people contacted the club with issues about the ticketing policy and the club are rewarding the fans who travelled regularly away last season before moving onto those who have followed us on at least two occasions this season.

Carl how can it be fair way of doing it when it's not in line with the club's policy.
It states ambassadors then season tickets then away travel members

Im in a similar situation mate, been a season ticket holder for donkeys years but only had 5 aways last year, so lost out and got 2 this year and its Fulham and Norwich and still going to lose out.
From now on though i WILL be buying as many tickets as i can for future away games to get me up the ladder wether im going or not.
Wed Oct 16, 2013 9:28 pm
There is a simple solution to this
The club know of upcoming away games. Ask people to register there interest to travel, the club can look at how many are interested, base their purchase on tickets on that.
Firstly register for away membership only - so only those can apply going forward
Set an allocation of the top 70% for away games get auto ticket the rest go into ballot or first come first servec that gives them a chance to build up to come into top 70%
works well with englands fans

fair........would be to start with a combined 8 from both this season and last, and then drop every couple of days to 7, then 6 etc.........as it stands you could have done 5 last year....have bought tickets for Hull and Norwich this year { 2 least atractive trips } and not get a Villa ticket.........
also, the 2nd round of sales........criteria 2 from this year.........makes no sense to me.............based on 4 games..but 3 really as ALL 1500 going to Chelsea { although only 1300 actually did 6 last year } qualify on round 1......which leaves 1500 tickets..i doubt there are 1500 who have done 2 that dont qualify in round 1............so what then becomes the criteria...........5 last year..or 1 this year?.........or will they just disappear into thin air

Im with you on this one. Anyway you do it will have winners and losers. I can go but my mates cant so i wont bother unless the tickets go on general sale.
People who support city away in low profile distant games should get priority not ST holdes whobjust fancy an away game thats high profile and close to home.
I can still see a couple of hundred being available. Its only villa and we went there a couple of years ago.... well some of us did on a wet tuesday night in november for a shit cup game....

I'm in a similar position as others where I went to 5 last year (including Peterborough and Blackpool when it was snowing.. not saying that gets me brownie points but I went through a lot of effort that day.)
I went to a preseason this year but haven't been able to go to any premier league aways because a) some fell on days I couldn't go b) the others sold out too quickly.
I fully agree with the notion that after 6 aways it should go to those with 5.. then 4.. its too early to use tickets from this year, those who didn't manage to go so far will have no chance to get tickets for the rest of the season already!

Mikey, blackpool away last year was probably the best away trip apart from leicester imo. it was funny, left hereford train station and it was loads of snow then got to blackpool none in sight, alot warmer up there aswell for once

went to both of those! Blackpool was better for me because a few of us went up for the weekend.. brilliant night, brilliant result.. So many Cardiff fans taking over the bars before the game and out in the night! Leicester was great too but I drove!

well said Sid
Ambo season ticket holders deserve some sort of reward........as per club rules !
It's one of the reasons I became an Ambo season ticket holder and put my money where my mouth is when it was needed.
