' Statement from Bluebirds Unite '

A group formed for it's members Bluebirds Unite

Run by volunteers who believe that Cardiff City FC & it's
History- Identity & Pride along with tradition are worth fighting for.

For those who want to see Cardiff City FC
The capital city of Wales Football Team being represented as we have for over a 100 years!

Playing in Blue at Home Representing our rightful nickname The Bluebirds.

Our crest should resemble our Identity with a predominant Bluebird in place.

It took more than a centuries struggle for the club to come from grass roots & climb the ranks of football

We wanted to see Cardiff City Fc in the Premiership !

Not just the Premiership in Cardiff....

Over a hundred years of history and heritage is being eradicated to make way for a new product.

A club IS it's Badge and Colours, Whatever position we are in that is what you hold on to and support.

Players, Managers, even Owners - Come and go but our Identity that we love and follow should always remain.
It is the Glue that binds a Club together.

We need to show how much our identity means before the club we loved is a thing of the past.......

Please do not join this group if you do not agree with the sentiment

Try to monitor your language, this group should be something all members can enjoy.

Sian Branson

History now shows we were changed to red and our badge changed to a dragon.
I feel we should protect our history. :malky:

Money binds the club together.

I never comment on the rebrand, but it annoys me when the word History is used, identity and pride i fully agree with, but history should never be used as the clubs history can NEVER be changed. :?:

I cant believe any fan would wish to keep red and dragons over blue or bluebird.

It becomes more obvious with each BU statement that this Sian woman is on a power trip.

At every opportunity she manages to alienate more and more potential followers of her supposed cause.

If BU were not already dead in the water this statement should seal their fate.

A shame really because the end goal can be applauded. ..... the journey along the road to get there is nothing short of an absolute shambles.

The. Problem with the word history is the fact that arguably the biggest part of our history is finally getting into the premier league , that was achieved unfortunately in red ! Does that mean if we get back to blue that this never happened to cardiff city because it wasnt under our blue guise ???

Well you better get used to keeping red Chuckmeister because this our second season in that colour and unfortunately for you it isn't going to change in the forseeable future.

As you always point out, on many many many occassions I might add, people are entitled to their own opinion. So if the majority of fans accept the red, let them be, even if you find it hard to believe, it's a fact.

Red and black is forever in our history now as we won the Championship in it. We can't remove it unless you want to be selective in Cardiff City's achievements. You cant pretend it didn't happen because it did. We also played our first season back in the Premier League in red.

I think its time people just accepted we were red and got on with their lives.

Agree that you can't take the red out of our history

Championship winners in red
Premier league debut season in red
Debt free after countless years in red
Transfer records smashed in red
Iconic pictures with our players in red (ie Barnett and kev against charlton )
Famous wins like the man city game in red will live with us forever

You can't blank this period no matter how long it lasts out of our history its probably the biggest part of our history

Not any more no. The damage is done, we are red, our owner is no proposing a name change so I'd rather we at least focused on stopping him changing that rather than focus on things that wont change like the kit colour and badge.

I think if we are not careful we'll end up having the name changed no problem as everyone will still be bleating on about the bloody kit colour and badge and by the time the name change happens everyone will be shocked again and start crying.

All well and good, but I'm afraid that you've TOTALLY missed my point.

I can't imagine any Cardiff fan wanting to CHOOSE red over blue or a dragon over a bluebird in a hypothetical choice.

So just because they would like to see their club in its correct colours, they haven't got a meaningful & fulfilling life?

What a strange comment.

Didn't tell you to get a life. I told you to get on with the one you have. Try reading properly and you might educate yourself, hopefully to a level where you'll realise that Tan has done what he wanted as he owns the club and will continue to do so at his peril unless fans get their act together and fight the biggest threat to this club, a name change.

Re: ' New Statement from Bluebirds Unite '

I will always support the Bluebirds and I will always be 100% blue and wearing Blue to every game. So will my son and his kids..........Red is Temporary but Blue is Permanent

BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBIRDS!!!!!!!!

Re: ' New Statement from Bluebirds Unite '

Wed Sep 18, 2013 7:05 pm

I prefer blue but still have pride in my club. Nobody needs to fight for that.
History cannot be eradicated.

I would also say a club is bound together by its fans having a common case i.e. supporting the club through thick and thin. Hopefully that will continue despite the red.

I'm all for those trying to get us back in blue, but please don't over dramatise it by suggesting they are fighting for the pride and history of Cardiff City. Personal pride to some maybe, but it's not generic.

So 27,000 Cardiff fans who can get into the ground, not to mention the 1,000's that can't have "sold their soul"? Oh dear.....

Ever thought about joining that group known as Bluebirds Unite? You'd probably fit in quite well.
