Goalscoring hero Peter Whittingham was voted man-of-the-match by Cardiff City fans in the Premier League draw at Hull.

Whittingham, who scored his first Premier League goal in 3,234 days, finished off a flowing move at the KC Stadium and was given top marks for his efforts.

Pushing Whitts close was impressive debutant Kevin Theophile-Catherine, who impressed fans and pundits alike with his barnstorming performance at right back.

Of the starters, Kim, who was taken off at half time, picked up the lowest score of 5.8 while Joe Lewis and Don Cowie also impressed on their first ever Premier League outings.

It's a rollercoaster ride with him but when he's on form, he's class.

Totally agree with you, up and down, but when he's on form Whitts is class, needs to be consistent in my opinion.

would have gone with KTC as my man of the match, but Whitts was very good, and took his goal well.

As long as Malky keeps playing him in that position, I think he will do well :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If he is, added to the good form of Gary Medel (up until this point, at least) and the rising star Kevin Theophile-Catherine, we are going to cause the opposition a lot of problems in the months to come and nobody will be too confident in taking us on - home or away.

I know it's early days, but I'm very positive about our prospects this season and more so after watching the DVP game last night, because I know there are others pushing for at least a place on the bench.

Looking forward to the Spurs and Fulham games now, with more optimism than I thought I'd have.

Same here, mate. It certainly does and it means that the regulars don't get too complacent, as well.

these last few years there have been times when he has just taken my breath away - his goal on Saturday was just gorgeous, fabulous one touch passing move with a slide-rule finish.

I know he has his dips but those moments of pure footballing magic are worth the season ticket price - well, almost! And such an unassuming manner. :ayatollah:

So glad we kept hold of him, and so glad that one of the first things Malky did was state publicly that Whitts was central to the team's continued success. :malky:

Keep the ball, none of you lot seem any good at that, less than 40 percent possession in all but one of your games.

He had the 2nd worst pass accuracy percentage of any of your outfield starters on Saturday :laughing6:

nice to see you putting in some effort in :thumbright:

anyway can't really base 'he's shit' on one game! he's been our playmaker most of the time he's been here! % is probably affected by the amount of difficult balls he plays forward, not all of them come off, but he can put great balls!

I didn't say he was shit :thumbright:

I do question the claim of his ability to keep the ball. His passing accuracy v Man City was 68% for example which is grim for a Premier League midfielder.

my mistake, the other jack did!

didn't realise it was so low for Man City, but he did put a great cross in for the 2nd goal, at set pieces he's deadly!

How was your match last night? Why don't you talk about it on a Jack messageboard?
