Hull protest on Saturday

Fri Sep 13, 2013 7:58 am

Interesting to see how this goes

http://www.ambernectar.org/blog/

The Ulltras have an idea. We heartily endorse it, and look forward to seeing as many people as possible at West Park gates at 2.30pm:

“In an escalation of the Hull City AFC renaming debacle Dr Allam has taken to national media and has today (via the guardian) confirmed Hull City Fans’ worst fears that indeed he does intend to press ahead with his solo project to re-brand our historic club. ‘Hull Tigers’.

Having previously divided the fanbase with deliberate confusion regarding his intentions the level of protest has yet to reach its true level. That has to start immediately.

We call on all City fans past and present to up the level of protest on Saturday.

Project ‘delayed kick-off’

We suggest that all city fans including Cardiff who have their own madness to deal with, to delay their entry into the KC until five minutes after kick off. The modern owners of our clubs care only about the riches of the international TV audience they don’t care about you the match attending fans who make up and have in the past saved this very club. Let us give the TV audience a spectacle to discuss.

Those who want to protest visibly please meet at the West Park Gates at 2:30 where a march will slowly make its way at 2:45 to the outer concourse. The AIM is to make noise outside whilst having a half empty stadium on kick off. As the whistle for the game goes we can then noisily make our way into the stadium holding the NO placards that have circulated and make out feelings clear.

Whether you joined the first protest or not ALL will be welcome.”

Now that's a protest that speaks up. Lessons can be learned from their fans.

Good luck to them I say . Fans of any club should be given the vote on these things

No owner would simply pull out of a prem league club . They would sell it for as much cash as they could get . They would only be able to do this if the club was in a healthy state . Same as ours really . All this crap about if tan pulls out . Pulls out / sells up - the same thing .

Demonstrating for what they believe in . Real funny that

again a very small minority I suspect

If balloted I should imagine 90% plus would vote against the changes .

I can't see this happening to the point where it would have any effect, there won't be enough people. Even if it does, what a way to protest, distract your team on the pitch a few minutes after kick off, nice way to concede a goal.

No, demonstrating against the changing of the clubs identity.

I take it that you would be happy about CCFC being renamed then?

After all the years watching them in the lower leagues in front of sometimes less than 2000, I'm interested in watching a successful team - all these glory supporters haven't seen the bad times

So you would endorse the renaming of the team to watch a "successful" side?!

Wow.

The question was about accepting a renaming - would you, yes or no?

Yes, the lesson learned is MAKE AN EFFECTIVE PROTEST!! Not like BU, who are using the Blue/Red debate as a money-making operation, i.e. wait 12 months for the blue merchandise to come in and then whack it out at £8 profit per kiddies T-shirt. Apart from the billboard, a tiddly charity donation, and a massive "AGAINST MODERN FOOTBALL" banner, has anyone else wondered what's happened to rest of the cash they're coining in???

Why not ask them? Instead of making incorrect assumptions online? :?

All monies raised from t shirts sold (which are also a protest in themselves.. Everyone wearing blue!) will go towards a planned blue scarf handout, very much like the red one by Tan last season.

So why are you criticising fans who are protesting against their club having a change of name, when you said you wouldn't want that yourself?!

Colour may not be important to you, but it is to many.

Only at Cardiff City would fans be critical of other fans protesting against their club's name being changed!

Tan apologists. Crazy.

Re: Hull protest on Saturday

Fri Sep 13, 2013 11:47 am

No one's going to care. The game isn't being televised except for dodgy internet links and highlights on shows like Football First and MOTD. Maybe get spoken about if it is a half empty stadium but it won't be, some Hull fans just want to watch their team, just like us.

It won't work.

attention seekers... just 5%...not loyal fans...fans of a name - not their club...

good luck to Hull CITY fans... :ayatollah:

A very small few I would say

Re: Hull protest on Saturday

Fri Sep 13, 2013 12:04 pm

I wouldn't.

Still not answered why you were critical of fans who are protesting about a name change, when you then went on to say you wouldn't be happy with a name change yourself... ?

Good on them :ayatollah:

Fans who are happy for a club to rebrand in return for success are no better than plastics in my opinion. If all they want is to watch a successful team play football then they should support a club like Manchester United.

Do you think a badge change is a rebrand? If so, you must think we've rebranded about 12 times.

I love the twenty something revolutionaries....

Keyboard outrage..... Playing in their cyber world of importance..

BU started with a few middle age (or approaching- apologies if you are not) old school wanting to actually do something (physical)

Other than that we have the unending rhetorical rhetoric of condescending superiority "Well I think we should do something" whilst doing nothing other than not wearing red but still ATTENDING GAMES....

If it hurts you so much, don't go ! That is a genuine protest

PS- Anyone calling themselves Ultras in this country are teenage wannabes.

Boycotting games whilst we're in the Premier League will make absolutely no difference as there will always be fans waiting to replace them.

I love Cardiff City, but I hate the red. Therefore I will wear blue and carry on supporting the club.
