A pint in the CCS

Mon Sep 02, 2013 8:07 am

Now I never buy a pint in there due to price and not a particularly nice pint but before the Man City game and coming out of the train station and seeing the BU march I joined in. By the time we got to the ground I was dying for a pint so my mate and me got a few pints in under the Ninian.

Now compass have put the price up to a whopping £3.80 for a very average pint in a flimsy plastic beaker. I said to the guy four pints of your extremely overpriced Lagers please. He said aint my fault mate !! Yep he had a point but then four pints that had been poured before we got there only had I would say just under 80% of the contents of which It should.

So I said to him can you top it up please if you are going to charge £3.80 a pint at least fill it up. Now this guy was getting well pissy now and filled it up a bit more but fair play he was then getting well wound up the fooking tw*t. Robbing Bastards I wont be going in again

Overpriced shite at the CCS. I don't bother. I'd rather drink my own piss.

Bought a pint under the Ninian last season, never again. Better off going to a pub before the game.

We can all see the price on the board, if you buy it why moan about later

Re: A pint in the CCS

I'm a pub man pre-game, and nothing would change that, but I never understand the lack of effort by the club to entice more people to drink and eat pre-game.

Shit, unimaginative beer in glasses that resemble sandwich bags at inflated prices. Food is much the same.

No loyalty cards, not £2.50 pints before 2.30, no comfortable seating. They could make far more money I'm sure by creating an environment that people want to socialise in.

Its owned by compass.

Never understood why people waste so much money in the ground.

I think Tan tried to buy them out before, but they didn't want to sell up. Not sure if they have a length on their contract or not , the sooner they go the better.

Yeah I know, but there is always some stuff the club can do in partnership, but yeah it seems that Compass aren't fussed.

I'd love to see the club provide a variety of small concession outlets and rent them out to whoever wants them. Clarks Pie stand, Mcdonalds, Barbaras sarnies, Brains beer, Lowes lemonade! Whatever!

That's how I think it works in US stadiums more..lots of choice, more interesting, and a change for local businesses to get in there.

Club can't do anything, they have a contract with Compass. Simple as that.

Why would Compass want to negotiate with the club to bring opposition into the stadium when they currently have a monopoly on services there.. The would be ludicrous!

Thought they had an easy 'get out' when Compass were involved in the Horse meat scandel

but youve changed tack now havent you.

you said thats the way it is and there is nothing anyone can do

thats not true now is it, the club can sit down with compass and work out a deal, im not saying it would be easy or compass wpuld be interested but the possibility is there, rather than your pointless idea that the club cant do anything because theres a contract.

Re: A pint in the CCS

Mon Sep 02, 2013 2:11 pm

So you think that the club are going to sit Compass down and get them to allow competition into the concourse & therefore lose themselves money, when they've currently got a monopoly!

The only way they can get rid of compass, is to buy their contract out. Compass won't budge & why should they? The club should honour their deal.

no didnt say any of that stop putting words in my mouth

'the only way they can get rid of compass, is to buy their contract out' fair point but correct me if im wrong but that would require a certain level of negotiation between both party's and sort of throws your idea that nothing can be done because there is a contract out the window doesnt it

Re: A pint in the CCS

Mon Sep 02, 2013 2:15 pm

i said on a previous thread that i took my pint back on Saturday to get afresh one, still buzzing....so an extra can by the ground it will be from now on 4 cans of san miguel in tesco £4.75 :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I'm not putting words in your mouth, that was the idea which was suggested, which I said the club cannot do anything about as there is a contract in place.

It would have to be something that the both parties wanted. Why would Compass want to allow competitors into the concourse, when they currently have a total monopoly on all sales? That was the idea suggested, which is why I said it wouldn't happen as Compass have a contract for a monopoly there & would not be interested in any compromise on that.

about 5 years time i think..im sure i seen they had a 10 year contract thanks to the riddler

I'm sure I read that Tan ready tried to buy out the compass contract.

Wont drink the lager in there, the Bow is not too bad, not as weak as the lager but it is ridiculously over priced.

Ive snuck cans in there before now, and will be in the future.

contradicting yourself

you said it cant happen not that it wont happen

I didnt suggest anything im just making the point that its not impossible though highly improbable

I see the point on why would Compass want to leave or allow competitors in however thats not the point im trying to make and does not support your argument that it cant happen.

I usually get my drinks paid for me being a celebrity with loads of fans. Me and Dai Hunt just stand in the corner talking about how the world's gone mad lapping up our freebie pints. Life is grand.
