Cardiff make late bid to bring Wigan winger McManaman back to the Premier League

Cardiff City have made a bid for Wigan’s Callum McManaman in an attempt to add attacking options on deadline day.
Sportsmail understands that manager Malky Mackay has made an offer for the 22-year-old who has been watched by several Premier League clubs.

Wigan have also rejected an offer from Crystal Palace for McManman worth £3million. Chairman Dave Whelan said: 'I don't know if they were trying to be funny or clever but it was an insulting offer and not worth taking seriously.'

Big time: Callum McManaman was an integral part of the Wigan side that won last season's FA Cup.

McManaman had been linked with a move to Everton under former boss Roberto Martinez.
The winger was infamous for a reckless tackle on Massadio Haidara during the Latics’ win against Newcastle in March and was sent off against Bournemouth in the Championship this season for another ugly challenge.
But McManaman’s ability going forward is highly regarded and Cardiff believe they can wrap up a deal on Monday.
