DOES THE CARDIFF CITY STADIUM FEEL LIKE HOME ?

That performance needs to be repeated another 18 times. Not by the players, but by us supporters.

Yes!

Because its the only football home we have.

The other one is now a housing estate, and we have moved on.

Plus the atmosphere was great and the facilities are great too.

For myself, there was a feeling of connection last Sunday, a feeling I don't think I have felt since the opening apart from a few sporadic moments but the whole occasion against Man City was different to previous games.

No, especially watching a red homeside it will never feel like home, i don't even think the atmosphere for Man City came near Leeds in the FA cup

Alex, the test now is can we repeat that atmosphere again and again, the look and the feel of the stadium last week was much improved than previously.

It did last Sunday.

I feel exactly the same as Carl on that one, it's not so soulless now it has a bit of filling in there.

However, I do wonder how great it would look if the decorations were blue :(

Leeds was special, don't think we'll ever get that atmosphere again especially with all seater.
Sunday proved we can get close though.

Of course it came close! May have even surpassed it. Think about what you are saying or you'll make a fool of yourself!

Last Sunday is why I support Cardiff . It reminded me so much of the ninian days ,
The problem we had the last few seasons was expectations .
We expected to win every game , now we are the underdogs the passion is coming back :)
Bluebirds bluebirds !!!!

A really good point there mate - no expectation meant the whole stadium was behind the team in the hope we would avoid a hammering rather than actually get something from the game. Trouble is, will expectations now be raised as a consequence of that result... I guess we will start to find out today.

One hopes this isn't the beginnings of Home Unite.

If both past-centric groups themselves united, they'd be known as BU-HU.

Makes me laugh all this rose tinted reminiscing of Ninian Park. I've been a regular since the early Eighties and the atmosphere there was just the same as it is at CCS - sometimes excellent, often unremarkable. And it's not surprising as it depends on what's in front if you. Boring game, boring away fans, boring atmosphere.

Some people seem to think Ninian Park was like a Galatasaray v Fenerbahce derby every single game! Utter tosh!

It hosts the matches of the team I support, it is located in the city of the team that I support and it has the fans that I know who support it. The only thing that makes it feel less like home to me is the rebrand. But that won't effect my support!

Of course it's home, like any other home it takes a while to make it feel comfortable.

I take it you mean electric? What I remember from the 01/02 and 02/03 seasons is sections of the crowd having a go at the team if they weren't 3-0 up after twenty minutes and being on the back of certain players from the pre match kick about onwards. Our home results were not that good during those two seasons and I still think that this was largely down to the fact that so many expected us to walk the league because of all the money we spent in the transfer market and decided to criticise rather than support when it didn't turn out to be as easy at they expected it to be.

There was the Leeds game of course during this period when the when virtually the whole crowd decided to get behind the team because it was a David v Goliath cup tie and the atmosphere was superb that day. Even then though some wanted to chuck things at opposing players and the officials and get on the pitch to try and attack the Leeds fans (I appreciate that the majority who went on the pitch after the game that day were intent on celebrating rather than looking for a scrap. but there were a fair number who were).

Last weekend the support was fantastic and there was no hint of the violence we saw from some at the Leeds match - for me this made the whole occasion a better one than the Leeds game from a "feeling proud of our fans" point of view.

Cardiff City Stadium didn't change into something different from the previous four years last weekend. It's still exactly the same concrete and steel structure as it always was, what changed is that some supporters stopped being so sniffy about the place and decided to actually give supporting the side in the same way as they, sometimes, used to at Ninian Park a chance - these people do tend to have very selective memories when it comes to our old ground.

I was and Ninian Park was occasionally brilliant, but much the same as other grounds for the majority of the time in the 70's - just like it was for any other of the five decades I watched us play at the ground.

Forever Blue
On an average game yes Ninian Park was just like other grounds, but on the big games, I honestly believe not many grounds could match Ninian Park for the Atmosphere, it was special and I cant even compare our new ground to Ninian Park.
Ive been to 339 grounds and Ninian Park to me on its day was one of the best for atmosphere
