" SURPRISED THAT IT WENT UNNOTICED. "

Thu Aug 29, 2013 8:52 pm

Four days have passed since our exhilarating win over Man City at the CCS and no doubt most are still feeling like myself, on top of the world.

Results like that don't happen too often so when they come we have to make the most of them.

As much as I understand that everyone's focus has been on the result and occasion, I have found it rather odd that we had someone in attendance at the game on Sunday, of quite possible significance, and it has seemingly gone unnoticed.

I have looked in the local press, on the message boards and social media and nobody seems to have picked up on it.

His name has been often linked to Cardiff City because of Vincent Tan's relationship with him but the fact that Peter Lim attended the game on Sunday raises the question, is Peter Lim looking to invest in Cardiff City Football Club?

It was reported that Peter Lim, once offered £340m to buy Liverpool FC and offer £40m to spend on transfers, the man has an estimated worth of $1.4b and as recent as July was linked to a takeover at Middlesbrough.

Maybe he was nothing other than a guest of Vincent Tan at the game on Sunday or possibly we will hear that Lim is about to invest in our club.

Mehmet Dalman's appointment as chairman, for myself anyway, was for another reason other than a figurehead of the club, Dalman negotiates deals and maybe I am barking up the wrong tree but I believe Dalman's main task is to bring in investment.

Interesting nevertheless.

Very, very interesting. Always is with our club. That's why I love it.

Hmmmm interesting times Carlos, I believe it will be a very intriguing season both on, and off the pitch :ayatollah:

Would you be interested in becoming the next Man City or Chelsea(money-wise)?

With all the changes Tan has made, Langston resolution and the promotion to the PL, we must be very attractive to someone like Lim.

Very interesting Carl. I didn't even know he was there. It looks like it's all part of Tan's masterplan.

Re: SURPRISED THAT IT WENT UNNOTICED

Thu Aug 29, 2013 9:03 pm

I thought that Tan was trying to buy up all shares in the club so he had 100% stake with the aim of listing the club on the stock exchange in a Far East country?

Re: SURPRISED THAT IT WENT UNNOTICED

Thu Aug 29, 2013 9:09 pm

Of course he is Carl and I mentioned this last year. Its the reason we are red and yellow. Its as simple as that. He knows what he wants and he wanted to buy Liverpool and they had a red home kit and a yellow away kit. He is also heavily involved with United themed bars.

I got slammed before for mentioning it but you are spot on. There is no doubt potential for a club like us given we are a capital city and put on the international map.

The guy wearing sunglasses sitting on the end seat near VT looks like Jorge Mendes.

"MIDDLESBROUGH FOOTBALL CLUB is not for sale despite mounting speculation in the Spanish media linking the club with a potential takeover by a consortium featuring Singapore billionaire Peter Lim and super-agent Jorge Mendes.

A report in Spanish newspaper El Confidencial suggested that Lim and Mendes had considered a buy-out of Spanish side Atletico Madrid, but had switched their attentions to Middlesbrough after linking up with former Manchester United and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon."

Very interesting and lets hope he was there looking to invest. I genuinely think that this is one of the most exciting times for the City. Imagine of we had a multi millionaire & a billionaire on board. We could have only dreamt of this years and years ago

Re: " SURPRISED THAT IT WENT UNNOTICED. "

Thu Aug 29, 2013 10:33 pm

This would be better news than the 3 points from man city!

Re: " SURPRISED THAT IT WENT UNNOTICED. "

Cardiff is massively profitable.

1. Capital city
2. Stadium can be extended easily
3. New image
4. Airport links
5. Business expansion in the City centre
6. Not far from London - can become an off branched hub for London centric businessmen
7. Low/no debt for a Premier League club once the conversion is done
8. Passionate fans with a large catchment area including the Valleys etc.

I think a lot of the fans undersell the place. Its a booming place if you ask me that can only get better and become more profitable with investment.

What the heck goes through your head.

Its obvious what is happening here. Take a look at Malaga in Spain. That place with its football club has the potential to break the monopoly of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Its why the Arabs have got involved there with the Russians trying to get in.

Keeping all that in mind you have the same story with Cardiff. A place that has the same potential to break a monopoly and this is why Tan got involved. Now Tan is going to pass it all over to Lim who will reverse the rebrand, become an instant hero therefore making it easy for him to take Cardiff City forward and becoming a major European football club.

Lim won't reverse the rebrand. He is the reason it took place in the first instance. He's only ever been interested in purchasing red clubs. :ayatollah:

and what is your source for lack of interest in those seats? Im not being an arse Ian Im genuinely interested. If you are right then you are right but I'd like to know why I am wrong. Like I said and you have in another thread, we don't always and won't always agree with others on the forum but we should give our ideas and why we think the way we do etc. People think in different ways and put the pieces all together in their own way to come to difference conclusions. Its all part of the fun.

Baked, I genuinely don't know what you are on about!
The proposed red seats were conjured up by fans on message boards now you say it's gone quiet so they are backtracking. There is nothing to backtrack from cos the club never said anything about red seats in the first place.

You have always said people shouldnt take the updates too seriously yet you have gone and done the exact opposite

Replacing the existing blue seats with red ones has never been on tans agenda. It would cost over a million pounds to replace seats that you won't see in a full stadium

CCFC can invest as much as it likes but the top quality class players wont sign in droves until City are a proven and established Premiership team .
