TIME TO MOVE ON

Wed Aug 28, 2013 5:41 pm

I've taken a decision not to comment on anymore rebranding threads and just concentrate on football matters. It's been done to death and i think most fans have had enough of the red / blue topic for now.All i will say is about 250 at the castle proves there's little interest in Bu and their cause ,even Ely boy was disappointed by the turnout and shocked by the hostility against the marchers on their way to the ground, even he's thrown on the towel.
No more on the rebranding from me,enjoy the season ahead .

I'm the same on the other side of the argument. I can't be bothered fighting anymore, I'll wear blue, attend bluebirds unite meetings but I'm done arguing

Better off just doing it then surely? As you KNOW what this will turn into..

Re: TIME TO MOVE ON

Won't argue with anyone over the matter, but the simple facts are cardiff city are a blue club, born a blue and will die a blue

You seem desperate for BU to fail.

The videos from Sunday proves that there is loads of interest, just because only 250 started the march at the castle it doesn't mean that they're the only ones who care. Ridiculous comment and clutching at straws comes to mind.

Yep sick of hearing about it all,had a nose on the other forum to see if it any good and in fairness it shite, the most posts on one thread was about conservatives!!

Your last statement cuts both ways.Supporting the side and just wearing blue is the way to go.

I see nothing wrong with marches as long as it doesn't affect the team.

In fairness the amount of blue in the stadium on Sunday was very encouraging. The rebrand argument is lost as far as BU are concerned but one day there will be an opportunity to return to blue and the tradition should be continued by our fans until then.

Indeed we might even get a cult overseas following, the team whose fans wear blue even though the play in red

I agree with OP. The sea of red at the Man City game told its own story.. On the day of a BU march and the stadium was still overwhelmingly red.

For all intense and purposes BU have failed. They claimed they had 10000 followers only weeks ago yet only 250 were passionate enough to do the whole walk, unless the other 9750 couldn't make due to shooting themselves in the foot too many times on their Facebook page.

What the pro-blues need to do now is ensure the tradition is kept alive by positively encouraging as many fans as possible to wear blue to home games. Not in a show of defiance but in a show of tradition.

Let the players wear red if they must we the fans don't have to. Explained like that and you will finally start hitting a cord with the wider fan base and one day.......

I have no wish to argue with anyone over a clour , but "overwhelmingly red" was definitely not the view from my seat in the Ninian. More red than I expected , yes (and good luck to them) , but deffo not in the majority from my viewpoint.

Sea of red

Look at YouTube videos of the fans celebrating and you'll see the score. In regards to kits, red was more prominent. The casuals obviously outnumber the others in their normal attire, that has always been the case, in regards to kits however there was more red than blue.

More people would rather buy the new home red kit and wear that than wear an older blue top to show how they feel. Sad but true Jon. Im not arguing with you anyway on the issue as you are always right. Im pretty sure you are Chuckles' son.

Only the family stand was more red than blue. The rest was predominantly blue. I can tell you that as I was there.

If there was a "sea of red", each stand would be filled with red shirts. And it only seems like there are more red shirts because red stands out more than any other colour. If you look closely you'll see that there are more blue shirts than red in the Canton.

I admit that there were more red shirts than blue shirts in the Family Stand (the majority of kids are bound to wear the latest home shirt) and the Grandstand, but that certainly doesn't mean there was a sea of red. Big statement.

Fair enough Chuckles. Well, it may be because the red is more prominent as a colour. Im not going to deny the red stands out more so that might be why it looks like that in videos and so on.

Something that was proved to be incorrect can't be an opinion.

That's like someone saying that in their opinion I have blonde hair when it's a fact that I have brown hair.
