' Malky's response to Velikonja transfer request '

Tue Aug 27, 2013 9:43 pm

Malky has now publicly stated since Velikonja asked to leave.

"It's okay to say you want to move, but people have got to want you."

I think there is more to the velinkonja story than we know
Something must have happened for him to play this little ,a 2 mill signing who can't even get on the bench doesn't happen often without a reason

100% true. Journo who goes to all CCFC interviews/conferences just reported what MM said on Twitter.

Not a Malky signing. Was probably recommended to VT and VT took a gamble. Malky calls the shots and didn't rate him imo.

I know he was quoted as saying it read it earlier this afternoon, I mean malky is right he can moan he wants to leave but there has to be concrete interest

I thought that as well, but apparently in one of Malky's interviews he states he been watching Velikonja when he was a manager at Watford. So from this perspective he was clearly a Malky signing which has not worked out.

Oh right sorry. Eti reckons a Portuguese club wanted him but the club said no. Not sure about that, I reckon MM wants him gone ASAP.

Rubbish, Malky himself said he had been watching him at Watford.

Malky said we weren't interested in Caulker and signed him

Eti seems to have a really bad attitude. He seems so laid back in the development games. What a waste of money

So? I suppose you don't believe anything Malky says now then?!

Malky made a mistake. It happens.

There are athletes in all sports that appear laid back, doesnt mean they're not putting effort in. Is Witts a waste of money too?

Whitts has run his socks off in both games and was one of the best at West Ham and against Man City. He has proven he can get involved and he may not be the best tackler but his effort is there. Etien just floats around waiting for others to put it on a plate for him. Can't have players like this at a club at our level. We'll go straight back down if we have players like that starting.

Strikers unfortunately need to wait untill its put on a plate for them, MF's are supposed to be more busy on the ball. Also dont you think confidence plays a part. You get signed for 2 million, then get rewarded vy playing cewnty behind closed doors. Flattering

No. But he seems to think he's better than everyone else in the Development squad and thinks he deserves a divine right in our team

More the type of player for Sunday league football I'd say. Couldn't do f**k all against Macclefield (conference side at the time).

What was he like at Maribor?

Regardless of interest or not the fact is that Velikonja scored more goals for CCFC last year at any level than anyone else in club.
He cost over £1million, is getting paid £8k per week and when MM signed him he said about what a talent he was and that he'd been watching him for over a year......
75 minutes of "first team" football all season is a bit of a shambles for someone who was banging in hat-tricks for DVP especially when we had no FC, Maynard out long term, Earnie on loan and the goat (Gestede) getting regular minutes instead.....
Can't remember all these people on this forum saying he was sh*t when he turned Coloccini inside out last Pre-season!!!!!
It's simply a case of MM not liking him for some reason and we'll never know why.

It's all a bit strange - you'd think he would have been shipped out or loaned off by now if he was as bad as people make out. But, he was a £2 million signing and he's been banging in goals in the DVP side. Not knowing exactly what's happened there, if I were in charge, I'd have loaned him out by now.

Stunned that there is little comparison between this situation and the Earnie scenario to be honest.

Re: ' Malky's response to Velikonja transfer request '

I get the impression Velikonja was busting his balls in the homeland but as soon as we signed him on a better wage he took his foot off the gas and expected it to just happen for him. He was awful against Macclesfield in the FA Cup and that said it all for me. I know he didn't have the best players around him but he had his chances. Sounds like he's just started taking his football for granted.
