Only started thread to say it appears we are growing in far east market on information from a totally unbiased bloke who has just come back from there.

I thought was good news but appears some would rather believe in the negative. I don't.

Good that the country is warming to us, see quite a few Malaysians commenting on the official Twitter/Facebook pages, progress is vital

For the same reason all the big teams tour there, the far east is the new money market where revenue will come from.

Re: Malaysia - Cardiff City fans

Sat Aug 24, 2013 6:54 pm

Why is it VITAL though? Many clubs succeed without doing so, so I'd say it wasn't vital.

Re: Malaysia - Cardiff City fans

He didnt say it was vital, he said 'progress is vital'

Re: Malaysia - Cardiff City fans

Future revenue. After recession a lot of blue chip companies not investing as heavily.

The big 4 are all attempting to break heavily into this market to secure future revenues. Therefore i agree if we are to continue our upward path to becoming a big club i agree it is vital.

So I ask again, how is having Malaysians commenting on social media, vital progress. :malky:

As I've said, many have done well without it, so hardly vital.

Read above. Fans in the far east is a positive to future revenue streams. The fact their following our club on social media is a good indication.

That help?

As I've said, many clubs have done well it bout it, therefore it isn't vital. Maybe advantageous, but not vital.

And I say again your twisting his initial comment, he said the tweets were 'good to see' and stated that 'progress is vital' you are assuming he meant something that he didn't initially say.

Same old Barry, harping on about being entitled to his opinion but rubbishing other peoples.

Zzzzz

Thats why we're lucky to have a chairman like VT. sees the future. Thank god you aint on the board, can't see past blue and the end of your nose. Negative man.

Where have I rubbishes anyone else's opinions? I've only claimed that it isn't VITAL to succeed & backed it up with evidence of clubs that have succeeded without it.

West Brom, Norwich, Swansea, Southampton.

Whereas QPR had this "vital" support from Malaysia & failed.

Original post was about the plus of our support picking up abroad before Mr Chuckles (ironic name) became negative on peoples opinions and comments.

Simple question chuckless, do you think more fans and revenue from the far east is a good thing??

Not if it comes at the cost of the rebrand, no.

Nor do I feel it's vital, with examples as to why I feel it isn't.

To think that I meant in that context is silly. I meant it in the terms that progressing as a club, the fact that Malaysians are commenting on the pages show that interest is there, I just want this club to go forward and progress, Paul and Gav have explained my views though

Re: Malaysia - Cardiff City fans

Sat Aug 24, 2013 7:13 pm

Hardly vital, though, is it?

Vital would suggest that it couldn't be done without it, which is rubbish as many clubs have. In fact, one club that has halos had this "vital" progress got relegated. :laughing6:

Right I answer that one.

When VT stepped in we were losing 1.2 million pounds a month playing in the second tier of English football, he decided that for his own reasons he wanted to make people aware of our club in the far east in a bid to increase revenue from a previously untapped market for our club.

He was trying to balance the books.

The fact that welshpaul has heard that the marketing scheme appears to have worked must be good news for the club as their attempts to tap into that market are working.

Good news for the club (if true!) but hardly "vital".

I totally agree with what Paul said 'progress is vital'
