Big Blue Flag Sunday

Mon Aug 19, 2013 4:59 pm

Whoever is looking after it get it out for the Man City game. I know it smells and has seen better days but we really need to get the stadium rocking this sunday, I agree with Malky and most of the pundits and making our stadium a fortress really is a must this season. So bring your flags, scarves, balloons and most importantly your voices and lets give the boys the best opportunity of gaining some points. Bloooobirds !! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I didn't see him mention "we'll always be blue" :?:

Anyway, that song is surely better than the chants of last year about Jimmy Savile & England being full of shit (when we have the most English players in the whole division) that will lift our team too eh?

Who the f**k said anything about singing we'll always be blue ? I'm on about getting behind the boys for our first home game in the Premier League, bringing flags, scarves etc is always nice to see and always seems to bring a better atmosphere, I want us to give our team the best opportunity to gain some points, seems like you just want to have a dig at your own fans.

It'll be a corperate atmosphere if the stories about new season ticket holders are true.

In fairness your thread title does mention 'Big Blue Flag'

Therefore you give the inference that you are looking to fans to bring blue flags, balloons and even sing about being blue (use your voices). If that wasn't your intention then don't mention the colour, we all know its a sensitive topic on this site. Not having ago but you can see where BG got his response from.

Even I a neutral could see he meant the flag. In no way did he bring up the re-brand or that. We don't own a big red flag so bring the next best thing

It's like walking on eggshells on this forum, it's bullshit, all I'm asking is if anyone still has the big blue flag please bring it because I think it adds to the atmosphere, when it was bought that was the idea of it, so to me surely that's still the case, I want us to give the players the best chance to perform, stuff it I can't even be bothered trying to explain. Unbelievable. :o

It's obvious he's talking about the big blue surfer flag we have sometimes before games. In no way did the OP even imply singing pro blue songs. He wants, as all of us want to do, to get behind the boys in any way possible.

So shut up Gwyn you moans old arse

It wasn,t a dig at you mate, but at those as they did in Forest Green who sang We,ll always be blue, then set off a smoke bomb and next thing sang loyal supporters, must really lift our players, NOT,,,,,,, :old:

What a load of nonsense.

He called it the big blue flag, because that's an accurate description of it! Some people are so sensitive to the colour blue! :laughing6:

He writes in his post that we need to get the stadium rocking, and i totally agree, but singing we,ll always be blue doesn,t help the players, or help to create a unified support. West Ham was rocking and only once was the we,ll always be blue song started and the booed down and not repeated again.

It was like the good old days with us all getting behind the team, which is what we should all be doing. :ayatollah:

On another note, i hope they do bring the big flag, don,t see that as a gesture of protest and more a flag of support.

That is not the point I was making of course the flag is blue. But the OP claims he was only urging us to get behind the team and wasn't encouraging "we'll always be blue chants" yet Titled his thread "Big Blue Flag Sunday" and went on to say we should use our voices.

Therefore I can understand where BG got the inference from. We see this a lot on this MB and my personal opinion is it is becoming a little boring. If posters misinterpret OP's/Titles then it is just as much the fault of the author of the thread for not explaining himself well enough/using the wrong inferences as it is the person who replies with the wrong assumption.

We have to make assumptions on what is posted or there wouldn't be a debate. All I'm asking for is a little honesty, post what you mean don't mislead people.

Of course there isn't and even I sing that one.

However, there is an irony when we playing a team in blue and that is what Gwyn is getting at.

Gwyn needs to let passionate Cardiff City fans be passionate Cardiff City fans.

He'd have us all wearing red foam hands and cowboy hats. By his reckoning that would support the team more than the Canton end loudly and proudly singing we'll always be blue. The players aren't thick you know. They know the history of the club.

To be honest, it's that song that gets me buzzing for CCFC more than any other at the moment. Gwyn can butt out, telling people what to sing.
