Came on half time. Scored on his debut with a superb 1st time finish. This is the premier league and even though you can play well, mistakes cost you dear against the top sides and Manchester United are not the team you want first up in this league as they are quality.
Goes to show that we had more chances, possession, corners, passing accuracy but got thumped 1-4 but make mistakes in this league and you get whacked.

To be fair to Bony, he went missing all game and then pops up and scores. Hard to be critical of him today when the side was completely overwhelmed really by a ruthless United side trying to do good by their new manager. He was in the right place at the right time when it mattered which is what you want from a striker surely. Van Nistelrooy used to go missing and you'd forget he was playing and then before you know it a clever slide pass across goal and he was there to slot home as he was just reading the game trying to drop off his markers radar and gain a yard of space.

He didn't start the game  came on half time as he played for ivory Coast in New York midweek and only arrived back yesterday morning.

I would not say we were overwhelmed as stats show different (more shots, corners, possession etc). Just that Utd took all their chances. That's what top sides do.

I only started watching like 40 minutes in mate so didn't notice. I was getting the score on live score centre until then calm down. I stand corrected. I didn't even see him second half though until he scored his goal so my point still stands that he's a good poacher who seems to just get in the right place.

Fair point. That's 3 in 3 competitive games now so hopefully he will carry this on. Spurs next then WBA, Liverpool and Arsenal - it's a tough start. :(

One man made a big difference today in an otherwsie deceptively close game - Robin Van Persie.

Up there with Ronaldo and Messi in my book.

That's what happens when you play the top 4. they are bonus games really.

You can dominate and have all the shots you want but if you don't score THEY WILL put their inevitable chances away. Swans were excellent today and undone by some sheer class by both Welbeck and Van Persie.

I don't see any domination in the game stats, must be wishful thinking.

Well then it teaches you not to watch the game via a stat count then.

''Swansea dominated proceedings for the majority of the first half before a wonderful volley from Van Persie put the visitors 1-0 up after 34 minutes and Welbeck doubled the lead two minutes later.''

I think the stats at the time of the first goals were 5-1 in shots to Swansea, 59% possession to Swansea. two chances for Utd in as many minutes and the scoreline is 2-0.

just the way it is playing the top 4. we have played them 5 times and not even come close to winning.

I didn't say it did. but dominating possession and the chances created and conceded count means you are dominating the game.

at no point did you dominate West Ham. and as for your possession, its 51% on BBC which I thought was generous.

56% possession but 30% of that the ball was in the clouds so it doesn't count surely ;)

According to planetswans they did. If you actually went on there instead of obsessing over us on here, you would see for yourself. Face it, your not the brilliant team you think you are.

again, no they didn't.

We are certainly brilliant, League Cup Champions, Wales' only European club and for large parts of the game outplayed the Champions of England but undone by brilliant finishing.
