So can I take it that in Malky you don't trust then
If Smith plays then Malky will have put him there to do a job
so lets all get behind the manager & ALL the players because
trust me this season we will need it.
Just my opinion of course. :ayatollah:

Re: Tommy smith

Tommy Smith was brilliant up until he had his injury and considering he was out for some time he wasn't exactly poor when he came back, I like him but we have better options, depends wether malky wants his wingers to help out the full backs

Re: Tommy smith

Fri Aug 16, 2013 9:19 am

Tommy Smith is a very experienced and intelligent footballer, if the management think he is good enough, who am I or anyone else to argue against that.

:ayatollah:

One quality Smith has above a lot of his competition for a place is that he he has a great ability to retain the ball. This season that will be more important than we've experienced before and therefore it's a sure thing that Smith will be used, particularly, away from home.

Re: Tommy smith

Tommy Smith was fantastic last season. The fans at this club just like to have someone to blame for everything. Hudson when he first arrived, then Kenny Miller and Now Tommy Smith. We're a day away from starting a premier league season and on most threads there are people slagging off our players before a ball has been kicked. Get behind the team amd support them not aggravate them and make them feel not wanted here, because lets face it, without them we wouldn't be here in the first place.

No doubt he is a clever and good player but poor pre season and don't see him living up to the standard's we want.

Pre season is nothing to judge. Judge the side and their capabilities in december when we are half way through the season, if a player isn't performing well. Say that, its pointless calling them s*it and hurling other insults because all that will do is cause tensions.

A strong pre season is always good. He doesn't look up to pace with fitness either.

Re: Tommy smith

Fri Aug 16, 2013 4:54 pm

Fitness wise he is fine, he wouldn't be playing all pre season games otherwise. He isn't as pacey as some players but it Dosen't mean he's lacking in fitness

Re: Tommy smith

Fri Aug 16, 2013 6:30 pm

Think he is good championship player but not any better than cowie Conway or noon ju st an opinion

Re: Tommy smith

Fri Aug 16, 2013 6:36 pm

I thought he was top draw last season before his injury, sadly when he came back he was nothing more than average at best.

If MM decides to play him then so be it but imo we have better.

You should extend the offer to half our supporters - I hope he does start now and he see how many are prepared to be man enough to congratulate him on a mom performance

A day before our premiership debut and we get posts like this - god help us when we lose a few on the bounce - I sure I can hear the Malky out chants now

I think we can do so much better than him.

He fit in well in the 4-4-2 when he joined, looked a real player with intelligence. The injury knocked him down. His hard work is 100% but I want us to push and progress.

Re: Tommy smith

Smith is a good player but with the side we've got he won't get in

Re: Tommy smith

I think smith had a great season last season. I dont know what team you were watching. He showed that he can still beat a man and work for the team. He may not be premier league quality but he'll certainly do his part and put a shift in. You have no idea you deluded idiot.
