When will people start turning up?

Thu Aug 15, 2013 12:01 am

When are people actually going to come out and support Wales? I go often and every time I've been it's been a good crack. It would have been a great atmosphere if there were more Wales fans, the Irish fans gave it a real good go fair play.

Anyone know the attendance? Seemed around 10,000 to me which I don't think is too bad for a pre season friendly :ayatollah:

Supported them for 8 years now and started boycotting since the Scotland game.

Made a decision and didn't want too but something I doubt I could go with, walking in the stadium watching someone English walk us out.. it goes for any other nationality but English just kills it all.

The experience for me will be spoilt and I will return when the decision is reversed.

Know a lot of people who go away with Wales who aren't fussed Football in anyway but love the whole crack. Like Scotland fans today.

But your happy for an Englishman to walk Cardiff out? Say what you want about Ashley Williams he's a quality CB and was a rock tonight, man of the match display. Got more passion in his little finger for this country than the boy from Tredegar whose boycotting his national team!

Who's the boy from Tredegar

When the clueless FAW don't f**k off and kill clubs such as Neath, Llanelli and almost killed Barry Town. Never felt so out of touch with my national team at the moment. I was introduced into football by going to national games, now they seem a chore. Squad is dominantly English, manager is useless. Speed was repairing the mess Toshack left. FAW are men in suits. Always go for the cheaper option rather than being ambitions. Got one of the best players in the world right now but can't market that to the country. 15 quid for a ticket for that heap of shit played tonight, felt for the people that paid that tonight

The national team doesn't really have anything to do with Neath and Llanelli etc. Plus Coleman isn't too bad, not as good as Speedo but better.
Agree about Bale though, he could be handled better media wise, it's as if he's just another player.

It would help though if people like Rambo and Collins and Giggs before them didn't drop out when there's nothing wrong with them. We might actually play some better football and attract more fans then

Difference is it's club.. different story.

I rate him for Wales, support him fully but captain.. not a chance.

More passion? Go on.

The Welsh FA are happy to push supporters like me away.

If you cared so much about Llanelli, Neath and Barry you'd support a WPL side.

I don't personally care but the comments on the FAW page were filled with people claiming their discomfort for the situation. Like it or not there are Wales fans that don't support the big two. :thumbright:

Were you one of the wankers booing Ben Davies? One of the best young players Wales have got? Just cos he plays for Swansea?

f*cking pathetic

And whats the point of chanting Malkys Barmy Army at Wales games

Internationl Friendlies are frankly crap and just a glorified training session - Have only missed 3 qualifying home games since 92 but I'll gladly give friendlies a miss unless we are playing someone worth watching

Last night it should have been adults £10 kids £5 or a family ticket for £20 - Could have easily pulled in 20k with imagantive pricing

Will never boo anyone that pulls on the red national shirt irrespective of what his club side or background is, it is one of the sad aspects of international football

There are some real f*ckwits that follow Wales at times both at the CCS & Liberty who cant put club rivalries aside on an international day

Re: When will people start turning up?

I enjoy watching Wales home and away and everyone has their opinion, but if we were playing Brazil, Argentina, England or Spain then I imagine the people that don't want to watch Wales or slag Wales off on this message board would be desperate to get hold of a ticket.
Im glad we have a membership scheme, just wish they would up the fee again to £25.00 a qualifying period :o

Been to a number of away games and nothing like this has gone on. Cardiff fans well outnumbered the Jacks at these games I have been to yet none of this crap went on thank God.

When I go away with Wales you don't see it then, but have heard it down the liberty in a friendly. It's our national team I can't understand why people do it

Re: When will people start turning up?

I have no desire to watch Wales at home these days. Still up for a Wales away though.

Re: When will people start turning up?

Thu Aug 15, 2013 9:10 am

For me it was when Toshach took over for the second time. Then the WFA changed their ticket pricing policy, didn't they once charge £10 adult & £5 child tickets to fill the Millennium stadium? That would certainly be a start to getting the crowds back surly??

Re: When will people start turning up?

Thu Aug 15, 2013 9:24 am

I don't care about the rights and wrongs but for me it's not the same with an English captain, didn't even watch it in tele.

Internationals generally bore me, I try to attend the competitive games though when I can afford it.

No I wasn't, I clapped him, he's Welsh. I clapped Ashly Williams, Joe Allen and Neil Taylor as well.

Also, it wasn't Malky's barmy army, it was Speedo's. just wasn't loud enough to come across well

Been to more Wales games home and away than I care to remember and am sick of them constantly letting me down. Sorry but until the FAW start listening to their customers and not take the cheap option all the bloody time then I will not be parting with a single pound more of my money to watch Wales games.

Coleman is a joke and I wonder if the same people booing Ashley Williams because he's english would also boo Vinnie Jones too..?

Re: When will people start turning up?

Thu Aug 15, 2013 11:08 am

agree with a lot of the above, faw are a shambles and it had to be one of the worst advertised games ever. they think a small add in the echo and a background picture on wales online is sufficient to advertise a national game its shit as i used to be in promotion i cant stand how little effort they put into marketing from posters and ads to ticket prices. the scotland game was class and im so glad i decided not to go last night as it was a dire turnout. i switched it off as i have a better atmosphere playing park football!

I go to some of the qualifying games.

I just can't be arsed with international friendlies, I think they're crap.
