That's the only reason I mentioned it. I'm not sure if Campbell wil stay fit, but if he does, he'll do exceptionally well. His movement and finishing has Premier League written all over it.

Yeah, let's just pray those knees hold up. Took his goal very well yesterday and will always score goals, at least that's the song. :ayatollah:

We would be foolish not to be interested at that price.

Corny is promising but not proven.
FC has so far flopped at this level but cannot fault him so far for CCFC so deserves a chance.
Maynard is just Keiron Dyer in disguise.
Rudy is crap.
Mason more of a link player than a predator.

Defo would go for Defoe or Bent. A proven striker.

Defoe, Huddlestone & Townsend for £15 million, plus Jefferson for £3 million, Premier League survival achieved :ayatollah:

Totally agree mate, it seems Fraziers major issues are a thing of the past, and its something the physios and Malky will be wary of, we don't need JD - only way i'de take him now was on a free really if he was released by Spurs, because then that would take a lot of risk out of the deal and still gives us a few goals

Someone posted that Frazier had been played as a winger a lot so maybe not flopped just out of position. Ain't it great to debate football for a change.

It's fantastic to be able to discuss football for a change!! :)

And yes he was played out of position, and up front he has really been a player who has shone

Have to keep pinching myself when you're talking about these names and Cardiff City in the same sentences. Are we really in the Prem or is it just a bad dream???

If there's any money left in the kitty a winger is priority in my eyes, a right winger

Lakey said on Twitter earlier that he's very confident we're going to get Jeff Montero.

Class player, pacey, technical, skilful, great footy brain in him, would be a quality signing, and one of the best this year IMO. But he plays more as a left winger. We could do with a quality Right winger, with Nooney as back up. Can't see smith cutting it in the prem, and Bellamy won't be happy on the right.....so?

I think that it would be stupid not to put a bid in for him!

I think Malky will try and mold him into a more "old school" winger. I.e a right footer, playing on the right, running at his man, beating him and getting the cross in. :ayatollah:

Switch out either Defoe or Huddlestone for Montero and I agree.

Actually, wages must be colossal. Would really depend on how much of a cut he'd take.

Re: Jermain Defoe for £6m?

None of our strikers are proven at this level and whilst I believe Campball and Cornelius can hack it at in the big league they could just as easily flop. Defoe for 6m is a steal and would guarentee goals. We aren't weak up front and its by no means our weakest area of the pitch but we'd be crazy to pass the chance at Defoe.

Malky not interested in journeymen after a final payday. No thanks!

Re: Jermain Defoe for £6m?

If he goes to QPR he will not do his international chances any good with the World Cup around the corner .
His wages would be the sticking point but if he's willing to do a Caulker then he could be just what we need.

No thanks, think malky will only play 1 up top and cant see Defoe being good apart from in the box.Class finisher but think he is more useful in a better team with a lot of possession. If Cornelius isn't going to be our main man wouldn't mind looking at Shane long, victor anichibe or somebody of that mould. The way malky has been signing these class players wouldn't mind betting he has got somebody in the pipeline. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Ridiculous comment and unfair on Defoe. Journeyman? He's going into his 8th season with spurs. Had one season at Pompey before that he was at his boyhood club. We could do a lot worse than Defoe, we aren't in the market for a striker and we shouldn't over spend on him but at the right price we'd be foolish to turn him down.

You could offer Messi to some of our fans and they'd turn him down.

I agree with you 48,he's far from being a journeyman. He's a proven goal scorer in the premier league,he'd be a great addition to our squad.
