" Cardiff City stadium alterations "

Fri Aug 02, 2013 10:21 pm

Heard a while back in a meeting I had with the FAW that the Cardiff City stadium is being done up in preparation for the new season and will look amazing. I had forgotten about this until I just seen a tweet of Barry Mac at the club saying the stadium will look different in three weeks time, I wonder how this will develop?

We know there are two huge screens going in, we know the is a massive new gantry being erected, we know there are going to be two circular electronic advertising things going all around the ground and we know that there will be nearly 800 new seats...I wonder if there will be other changes and I don't believe there will be red seats put in for a start given that the additional seats already added are all blue.

Won't these screens be hanging off the roof similar to the Millennium Stadium? I'm sure Carl said that the quality of the screens were going to be better than those in the Millennium too, can't be as big though no way.

3 weeks to replace them with a completely different colour.. Definitely out of the equation.

The concourses will be decorated etc instead of being more bland. The front of the stadium will have updated players, not Mason and Gunnar, both probably red I assume.

The seats won't turn red, so lets hope we don't have that sort of hysteria.

New dugouts, more advertising, more seats, new TVs - that's what I think.

Remember when that alcoholic nobody Steve Day told everyone that the seats were changing to red? :laughing6:

Definitely got new dugouts, think they may be done but not sure, work was definitely done to them this week! I think the stadium will look a hell of a lot better when we watch the Man City game

I have no doubt that they will eventually, should VT stay around... I've no doubt that the extension will have red seats.

Lets guess the players.

Caulker and Bellamy. Or do they go Kim & Cornelius for the international market.

I definitely think Bellamy will be one of them just because of the home town factor, he's a big player to the younger fans. Maybe Hudson alongside him as both of our captains? Would be class if they could put something similar of Malky etc.

Kim will almost certainly be one of them, I'm sure.

They should have Malky because he's the manager and the captain Hudson :ayatollah:
Or do what Arsenal have at the Emirates all the players in a huddle.

Corky,

As well as the new giant size screens, they have a new Gantry, new dug out seats for the managers, raised bucket seats, I know behind the scenes massive alterations have been done, more seats, away section extended.

They have been adding seats quietly everywhere around the stadium - premier - diamond grand stand ninian canton and family stand

all seats will eventually be changed to red in future there borrowing seats form Ireland at present for the one that are short of until new red go in .

More red lol

I was concerned about this TV gantry. Does it look like a temporary scaffolding monstrosity that doesn't look right or is it well integrated and look part of the stadium.

its been built around the top of level 4 and to be fair it looks permanent, proper steps leading up to it and no scaffolding to be seen

The disabled section has been ripped out and looks to be replaced with seats.

There have been a few rumours like this red seat scenario. Strong rumours about no blue kit as well.

It makes you wonder if a U-turn has been made because of this 5%. Of course the argument will be it was only a rumour.

Maybe because these RUMOURS were never true in the first place.

Whatever suits individual agendas, eh?

I'm sure it will happen one day and that would be a shame. But I guess people will simply have to decide whether the club moving forward is infinitely better than it peddling backwards for the sake of a colour

Never expected this amount of (relative) success in my time supporting the club, so just going to get behind the team and enjoy the ride more than ever in the knowledge the people in the background (owner and manager) actually now what they want/are doing. Happy days! :ayatollah:
