" ANOTHER RECORD DEAL TO HAPPEN ? "

Thu Aug 01, 2013 3:22 pm

After agreeing a fee with Toulouse, Cardiff City representatives met with Capoue and his agent last week in Monaco and have spoken again with the players agent this week and we have now agreed personal terms with them. The deal is now down to the player.

Hopefully, we will know sooner rather than later whether the deal will happen but, like Caulker, Malky and his staff have sold the club to Capoue.

Like the Tom Ince talks everything was agreed by the clubs and the player but ultimately it is down to the player whether he wants to sign for a newly promoted team.

Hopefully it won't go like the Ince deal did.

Malky is looking at bringing in a winger and I see that Odemwingie is being linked but I wouldn't be at all surprised if there is another pacy, direct wide man that Malky is looking closely at.

A press conference will be held down the Vale tomorrow where new signings Brayford, Moore and Caulker will sit with Malky to answer questions.

Season tickets will be posted out next week.

If he's agreed terms then what's holding him back?

No imminent deals then if only Moore, Caulker and Brayford are being presented

Isn't that obvious? He waiting to see if a bigger club will come in to make an improved offer.

That's understandable. After being told for two years that your destined for Champions League football with either Athletico, Arsenal or Chelsea, you're going to be a little cautious when it comes to the possibility of signing for one of the favourites for Premier League relegation.

Wont be any more transfers until deadline day now i reckon and capoue will then sign for us in a record deal.

Exactly, we are not an established Premier League and it is about the players career as well.

Carl i think capoue will join and i think wel get a left back, winger and odemwingie and that will be our transfers done this summer maybe one on deadline day and if so i think every fan should be happy with that... To think just over a week and half ago how many people were moaning about the lack of signings and didnt give malky chance to bide his time and fight to bring players here.. As i posted couple weeks ago this time last year we only had 1 handful of signings here and malky got us a squad that won the division and now i believe he will get us a squad that keeps us in the prem! :malky:

30 mill on 3 players. Hmmmmmm quite worrying to be honest. I'd rather we drop down the leagues or get some Ligue 2 players from France. This sort of money will under so much pressure. People will be waiting to label us the new QPR as soon as we lose a game.

Our team would be perfect with him. With Caulker signing he should realise our ambition.

That is really positive news. If only half of this comes off it would be great. If some of it doesn't I trust Malky to have something else up his sleeve. He has done us proud so far. It's just a pity so many people canfind a negative in any situation. If we don't stay up it won't be for lack of trying. I reckon we will do a bit better than just survive and that is what we are aiming for. We should all just get behind the team and support them, the one thing we do know is that they will give all they've got. I can't wait for the season win or lose

I totally disagree.

My opinion of Capoue, Caulker and Andreas is quite simple, future value. All under 25, and all of them are current international of there respected countries.

QPR bought pretty much anyone they could by and simply too many new players upset the rhythm of the squad and well, we know the rest. I think the 3 named players are hugely important for the backbone and survival of CCFC in its debut season in the EPL.

Why would you risk buying Ligue 2 or second division spanish players for £4-£5m, when you can get the brightest players and current established internationals at bargain prices of £8-£10m.

im not comparing here, but Man Utd bough Rio Ferdinand for £34m. Ok even Caulker does not get to Rio's heights, we have just bought him for a reported £8m, his potential is easily £20m?? After reading interviews, tweets, tabloid reports, Caulker is regarded massively in England by hugely regarded ex players and managers, some are calling him the future and possible captain of England. Yet we bough him for less than Swansea want for Ashley Williams who is 28years old?? com on that deal is by far one of the bargain buys of the summer.

Seriously, if we get Capoue, £26m for three rising stars and players who have absolute talent at there disposal, these dels are bargains in the current market, and one we should praise Malky and Tan for.

Well the deal with Ince is that his family was up North and he just had a baby girl, family puts things differently its not about money yet or what size the club was, the only clubs he wants to sign for are up north. With Capoue though if hes agreed terms and fly's over to here he isn't going to stop or delay the signing unless someone like Arsenal or a Europe side that can get him Champions League football because he does want that he has said but Premier League football is a good attraction to get himself into the international side like i.e. Cabaye has had call ups because he has played so well in the Prem

Also another point when Malky signs a young very talented, highly rated player like Caulker, that will also attract players because they know then they're playing with a good set of players and could improve them as a player to

I can see it from the players point of view for the time being but weve got to set a realistic deadline . I wouldnt like us to be waiting 2 weeks or so for athletico madrid

Don't be daft, you get as good as you can to improve your chances of surivial, while taking care to by the right type of players thar had good character, and that will fit into the group. :malky:

If Tan wants to spend it then who are we to argue? :laughing6:

Tan isn't spending it though is he! Tan is still LOANING us the money until he converts the debt to equity (I thought he promised to do this if he settled the Langston debt), with a 7% interest!

Bluebina you are right,as soon as Tan converts the debt to equity, which I imagine will take a lot longer than 7days,there will be some who will then move on to the next topic to moan about. We have to accept that certain individuals are so against him that they will never give him any credit,Very sad.

Please explain how my post is false in any way? I am delighted with the players we are bringing in, but the longer things go without Tan converting the debt to equity, the more worried the sensible fans will be about the financial situation of our football club. It makes me laugh how fans go along with the rebrand for the "financial stability of our club", yet when Tan continues loaning us money to sign players and I express my worries, the same fans shoot me down!
