Tradition vs Progression

Tue Jul 30, 2013 2:16 pm

Which option would you take? Here's the scenario. Your grandmothers house that has been in the family for years you can keep it as you want it and struggle to live and survive or you can have the walls all painted red, the carpets red and a big logo on the front door of the person donating money. In return you get £100m to live off comfortably for the rest of your life on the one condition this house stays red with the logo on.

Option A - Keep the house as it is and struggle to live and make ends meet. The house has been in the family for years and its your grandmothers. You'd feel physically sick letting another person buy this houses identity and character when it meant so much to your grandmother and parents. Life will be hard but so be it, sometimes life is hard and you just got to dust yourself down and go again.

Option B - Give the houses identity up. Your grandmother you loved and she'd rather you live in peace, stress free and happy. Although you hate red as the house has always been blue you have to make a sacrifice for the long term benefit of the household, yourself and any potential future family. The house is painted red and the logo is put on the front door and you receive your £100m to live comfortably. Your grandmother would understand your decision.

What would you do?

It's a genuine question.

Sadly this forum is turning into CCMB with snotty nosed, bucktoothed teens running amok creating rebrand threads left right and centre. Yes, it is important that it is discussed but everything to do with it has been discussed to the death.

Pro blues won't budge, pro reds won't budge and 99% of the rest of us are pro Cardiff and want to draw a line under the whole thing and talk football.

Re: Tradition vs Progression

It's a loaded question, How can the decimation of the clubs relationship with it's fans be classed as progression?

They should just keep banning you, trolling your own fans over a sensitive issue on adaily basis, is far worse than roathie in my book.

Re: Tradition vs Progression

Why can't the club keep its tradition and progress at the same time..? :?

Re: Tradition vs Progression

Re: Tradition vs Progression

Not a good way of trying to sell the rebrand.I can't believe anybody that supports the return to blue would be thick enough to vote for the second option anyway so this is all a bit pointless. I can't believe how patronising your post is and you wonder why people have a go at you.I don't particularly wan't to pick a fight with you but you need to up your game my old son. :old:

I have no agenda. I can see the arguments from both sides to be fair and what is there I or we can do whilst Tan is here? Im just asking which way people would go if that scenario came up. I'd like to return to blue but its not happening under Tan. Also, my question is as much about society as it is to do with the club.

For example, my choice in this scenario would differ from my choice in regards to the rebrand. :ayatollah:

If you saw the argument from both sides you wouldn't have framed Tans work as 'progression' or spent the last year trolling your own fans with Pro Tan RHETORIC.

Pro Tan? Im pro Tan for his investment, not the rebrand. I dont know one person who would rather the rebrand.

Your post history suggests otherwise, you'll never change without first admitting you have a problem. For that reason you should be banned, constant pisstaking under [psuedonyms are ruinning the board.

This is my only account. What part of that do you fail to understand? Got a problem mate then simply as i've told Brownie meet up with me in person and we'll sort it out. All you're trying to do is provoke me into responding in a manner whereby you can report me and get me banned. All I want to do is talk football and on football related topics with this being a football related board and all that. Why's that so difficult for you to fathom?

JB - From all your pisstaking, How many lads have you offered out from here? And how many have you actually met?

Re: Tradition vs Progression

Tradition is all good and well but it doesn't pay the bills.
Progression is the way forward and Cardiff City is now a forward thinking club not stuck in the past. :ayatollah:

Offered out? Where did I do that? You insinuating again that I wish to fight you. How old are you? Clearly not an adult who speaks to other adults in a civilised manner rather than getting his fists out.

I think Gestede is a good player and the abuse he gets from some after the service he did us last year is a disgrace. They wouldn't say it to his face personally.

We'll see then mate. Players in Rudy's position don't mature until later on - Adebayor, Zamora and so forth - usually late 20's.

Just because you don't rate a player it doesn't mean others can't. I remember Bale being touted as a £3m failure in defence and now he's being touted for a £103m move to Real Madrid. Write off Rudy all you like but please don't castigate others who have belief in him to come good.
