I haven't posted for ages, been fed up of this issue.
I can only speak for myself and the 2 guys that I go to every game with.
I've been going since 74 and the other 2 who read but never post on this site much longer than me. They were both stewards there when I was a kid.
It has nothing to do with success, we've always loved going no matter what league we've been in.
For us we are glad that we now have an owner who has invested real money in the club and hopefully secured the future so that we can always watch our club.
As the colour we play in isn't as important to us as it obviously is to you, you seem to think that makes you a superior supporter, that may be the case in your eyes, but maybe you should understand that for a lot of very genuine supporters, it really isn't about the colour, more about the club called Cardiff City that plays in our home City.
My crash helmet is on, fire away.

I think your wrong,it's very much to do with the colour we play in,cardiff city are known for playing in blue, and that's the way it should be,everyone has got their own opinion, but if tan really does believe only 5 percent are against him,he's very much mistaken

What a strange situation. I agree with both taffy123 and terrytaxi.
I'm blue, bluebird -its in my heart and is synergy with supporting
CCFC.
but I can also see those fans, 'reds' if u want, and they too are
Loyal Cardiff City fans who see this chapter as a chance to turn
CCFC from a low league club into an established big club with
Lower risk of financial meltdown.
They've seen this as a rebirth of a club with promise not quite
Having enough to make the big time and always being yo yo'd
To financial oblivion.

Blues like me can see this too but are more than horrified that
Change has to be so drastic and debate whether it even makes a
difference other than dividing the fanbase.
The way the rebrand has happenned has been crudely done and that
Has created a mistrust of Tan - even when on the face of it - we
Appear to be benefitting from his business accumen.

I hope his comments get wound back down as he can build a bridge
Or create a monster by perhaps putting fan against fan.
No one wants the monster -as all are Cardiff City.

I hope blues and reds respect each others views and that management
Liaise with fans who are the lifeblood of the club. :ayatollah:

Re: Be Honest reds

Old ground but here goes. I would like blue back but have nothing against the fans who wear red. (life is too short)
The way I see it, is that the BU are causing a bigger rift amongst the fans than anything else.
The fans who wear red don't mind the fans wearing blue, but the BU look down on fans wearing red.
Thousands of instances on line and I have also seen it amongst fans at the ground. where the blues are having a pop at the ones wearing red but not the other way round.(yes the red wearers state their right of freedom of choice, but they don't have a pop at those wearing blue)
The same cannot be said about the fans who wear red/don't mind red. The do not have a pop at those wearing blue.
They just let them get on with it.
Because the BU are now an organisation who frown upon red wearers, they are seen as threatening (whether the BU believe they are or not) to those who choose to wear red.
Just an opinion.

Ok taffy123....you wanted honesty,so here is my honest view...i want City not to go straight back down this season,if that means them playing in red to achieve that,so be it.....just my honest opinion, which i hope you will respect

Totally agree I've waited 51yrs for this and quite honestly I couldn't care less if we played in any colour because this year we can say we are a PREMIERSHIP SIDE and thank you V.T for everything you've done for our club

Re: Be Honest reds

Tue Jul 30, 2013 9:18 am

How do you come to the assumption that reds as you call them do not care what colour Cardiff play in?
And don't say "Because they're wearing red" because the only reason they're wearing red is because they're supporting a team who is playing in red.If that is the theory behind your assumption then a counter claim could be made to suggest you're not supporting the team.

Well the fans Divide is because of the rebrand. So there is the reason for you gripe with him. To be fair that is many people's reason.

Think this debate has been done to death but it will continue, life is full of changes work and personals and social, those that adapt will swim those that don't usually sink business is no different,
I like blue as its been associated with Cardiff city for me since I put that strip on as a young lad and watched my first games, it will always have a special place in my heart, tradition is more than colour for me if you were a true tradionalists surely you'd be wearing riverside colours? The club went through change then to adapt and it is doing so again now we may not like it but I see the point of it, I am loving the new CCfc not for colour I might add but our history is littered with lower league football failure other than 1927 and winding up orders boardroom unrest and pure debt, I am glad for tans input into this club and I really feel he can take us forward, being blue in league 2 and not being Cardiff anymore would be worse to me than adapting to red and playing with the elite week in week out, this is the right step for Cardiff city football club the team I love and support, ill always be there red blue or pink with yellow dots as supporting this great club to me is more than a shirt colour and always will

Re: Be Honest reds

Well said Taximan, I've been going since 1968 and have lived in dread of the club I love ending up in Administration or worse still liquidated (it could have happened). Now IF Mr Tan does as he has promised and turns his debt to equity this worry will hopefully be a thing of the past. All that matters to me is that my club plays under the name of Cardiff City and in the city of Cardiff. Tradition and history has its place but to me the team that walk out on 17th August will still be Cardiff City, winners of teh FA cup 1927, runners up 2008 together with all the other fantastic (and not so fantastic) moments that make up that tradition. Blues it's time to move on . End of!

I suspect this is actually the thoughts of the majority of supporters, although this board does not typically represent the majority of supporters.

I was born within a goal kick of the Canton Stand and have been attending games since 1967. I'm not going to let the colour of our shirts change that. :malky: :ayatollah:

If the answer is no then everybody who criticises pro-blues is a hypocrite, just because our tipping point has come before yours.

Why did we change in the 1800's then?
I said businesses need to adapt and change to progress such as individuals need to in all aspects of their life, I didn't say we needed to change colours as I would rather we didn't but if that's part of tans business plan to move this club forward then so be it, time will tell I suppose but it's plainly obvious he is targeting the Asian market whether it be to attract investment or for eventual increases in merchandise etc

Exactly the club is the club just playing in red your point is flawed Scott, cos if your nt supporting Cardiff city FC then you are just supporting blue, I also dot understand this playin in blue in league two nonsense as we would not be Cardiff city anymore, as winding up means the business is liquidated! We would reform as another club which then would not be out club and history and tradition no longer exist as we know it so if the sacrifice is watch is in red or watch FC OF CARDIFF IN LEAGUE TWO I KNOW WHICH ONE I CHOOSE EVERYTIME, red shirts and black shorts and a prosperous future for Cardiff city football club!
