All about opinions I guess, I've seen Joe play for many seasons when he was here and was a big favourite of mine. He was consistent for sure, wouldn't say he ever pulled the strings, or controlled the game though. Whittingham can and has on many occasions, can't see what Joe would improve in our squad other than versatility by covering a few positions.
He was always a 100% er but we now have many of them, some who've got a bit more to offer too!

Well i don't want him back because i don't think he is premiership quality, you can only base his ability from games he played for us in the championship and the years he has played in the worse scottish league for standard in their history, also in my opinion gunner, whitts, kimbo and mutch are better than him but you can't comment on our players can you because you never see them play.

How about International games then..? I suppose they don't count do they bearing in mind the standard is far higher than Championship level

Well, it's all about opinions, i still don't think he would get a regular start in our team as it stands now, when the new signings come in he has no chance.

Ledley isn't good enough unfortunately. He's a journeyman who would do okay from our bench but would you want to pin our key survival hopes on him? Lets face it, the first time he left was because he didn't have the bottle to stick around and finish the job. The likes of Whittingham, Hudson, Marshall and McNaughton are more Cardiffian than he can ever dream of. They stuck around, stood by us and finished the job. Sod Joe, he may be from Cardiff but he's not bigger than the club and no player is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journeyman

'A journeyman is someone who has completed an apprenticeship and is fully educated in a trade or craft, but not yet a master.'

Thats Ledley in a nutshell. Good squad player, nothing more. He is not a master at football and we need influential players like Capoue who can keep us up and not squad players.

Face it the better players out there are using the club as a Stalking Horse for bigger clubs to improve their interest in them. For the first couple of seasons it maybe all about surviual.

Oh and if you want to put a wikipedia link to prove your point then maybe you should put the correct one up and type in a sports journeyman where it clearly says 'In British English, a journeyman is a player who has represented many different clubs over his career. Prime examples from association football are: German goalkeeper Lutz Pfannenstiel, who represented 24 different clubs, and he is currently the only athlete to have played professionally on all six inhabited continents; Trevor Benjamin, who has represented 29 different clubs since 1995; Drewe Broughton, who has made 18 transfers in his career; John Burridge, who played for 29 different clubs in a career spanning almost 30 years; there is Jefferson Louis who, since the 1990s, has represented 29 clubs and Dominica once; and Richard Pacquette who boasts 19 different clubs and even international honours in 10 seasons'.

Nope.

Other than sliding the ball through for the pen against Croatia. Ledley, is always half a second too late in his decision making, whether its passing, or tackling or moving into space.

Took the easy option to go to a league 1 equivalent division when he could have really stepped up from us and challenged himself at places like Stoke or Everton.

Instead plays in a league where there used to be 4 league games a year and 6 CL games, now there's just a handful of CL games.

We have better now.

Just like you moved on to 'better yourself' a few years ago, it's now time for us to better ourselves, and unfortunately that's a team that doesn have Ledley in

This is no character assassination, just the cold hard facts of truth.

Good luck Joe. Thanks for your time with us. I remember the great moments you gave me with your goals at Wembley (Barnsley, Blackpool) I wish you well.

Well its nice to hear from someone with so much knowledge of our transfer policy. If only we were all so knowledgeable in this area.

Who said I was using the sports version of journeyman? You implied that from the statement I made. I used the term journeyman alone in the common sense, not the sporting related terminology.

Sorry but bearing in mind that this is a sporting thread then I would have thought you would have used sporting related terminology to back up your point rather than use other terminology in an attempt to twist the truth
