Putting rumours to bed permanently

Sat Jul 27, 2013 11:37 am

I appreciate that on a messageboard you will get lots of rumours - that`s a large part of the reason they exist - and , as long as they are not dressed up as "fact" there`s no harm in them at all.

But why are claims that are factually untrue left unchallenged so often?

e.g.there have been a number on here claiming that Carl has been both a Leeds and a Rangers fan fairly recently before switching allegiance to Cardiff City.

Carl , why don`t you just post a clear denial of the claims so it is settled once and for all?

Re: Putting rumours to bed permanently

There's been plenty of other claims, why pick this one?

Re: Putting rumours to bed permanently

Sat Jul 27, 2013 11:47 am

I'll start it off, I used to support Cardiff when they were still Blue and I can categorically deny that I disowned them after losing away to Cambridge 5-0 because I had booked the next away trip by the time we got back. The rumour about that camping trip is pure speculation the sheeps back legs accidentally got stuck in my wellies.

Yes Keith, why start all this up again?
Why does Carl have to keep answering to malicious lies and Gossip.
Carl is Cardiff first and yes his other team is Rangers, but so what?

Spot on, I've seen Cardiff lose 7-1 said I was going to blow the stadium up and seen us relegated time after time and said I hated them, but after each time I turned up again, singing you are my Cardiff

What about those sheep shagging rumours, i have even heard and seen people making these accusations at many a gqme, so obviously if you don,t deny it every time then obviosly it must be true. ;)

Not like you, Keith :?

Most supporters (if they are honest) had 'second' teams when we were still only dreaming and their 'loyalty' to Cardiff City FC first and foremost was/is reflected in their continued attendance at Ninian Park (and now the CCS) even when it was even more entertaining (and rewarding  ) to watch paint dry!

My own team back in the day (and I still watch for the results) is Spurs, as I worked in that area for a couple of years in my first job and was lucky enough to be on a team that was directly involved in the club just at the time Glenn Hoddle was coming to prominence :)

Trust me though, come the day (21st september 2013 AT THE CCS) there will be only ONE team on my mind; CARDIFF CITY FC and that is ALL that matters! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

You seem far more concerned than me Keith, I wonder why that is, hoping to find that I have only been a City fan for a number of years? Is it to try and discredit me perhaps? Well unfortunately you along with others will fail.

I have only ever supported two teams, Cardiff City and Rangers.

Growing up with a Glaswegian step father, I was taken to Glasgow during school holidays and would go and watch Rangers whilst up there, I had Rangers tops bought for me as a kid as well.

The last time I watched Rangers was when I was 15 years old.

Never have I followed an English club.

I have seen claims that I was in Ninian Park for the Leeds cup game but in the away end, absolute load of tosh.

I was at home watching the game as I could not go because at the time I had two young sons who I had custody of and lived with me and they would visit their mum on weekends, as part of the court order, their mum would get access between 18.30 on a friday evening and 18.30 on Sunday, the Leeds game was played at 16.00 on the Sunday and such was the relationship between their mum and I that there was no way she would allow me to collect the children at a later time for me to attend football, had I done so I can guarantee I would have had a solicitor's letter early the following week stating I had broke the court order.

My first City game was in 1987 away to Swansea on a boxing day.

I was a father to my sons by summer 1993 and I was still only 18 yrs old myself, I would go to City games when I could afford it and/or when I did not have a football game myself.

Personally I would not have bothered to answer the stupid claims had you not created a thread as I know the truth and quite simply it is none of your business or anyone else's. I myself would be embarrassed to even ask somebody such a question.

No need to thank me for being honest.
I have seen a lot of snipers aiming at you on here but I realise you can laugh at it. This , though , is a new low and I diagree with people having a go at you like this. I'm a proper city fan because I supported them longer than you,how bloody childish
It makes not a bit of difference if a fan has began to support city in the last 2 years
To a person supporting them for the last 30 years.
If a person pays there hard earned money for a season ticket and makes the effort
To go down the ground on match days, they are a supporter.
Why has he got to explain anything to you,an what gives you or anyone else the right
To question his support.
If he supported Leeds or rangers before or still do that is his choice, not yours

Family and City (in that order , as it should be) are obviously very important to him. Top man !

What a childish and pathetic post, Since 62, you have let yourself down here fella.

Its funny that I am the same as Carl, Cardiff City and Rangers, have never supported a 'Premiership Team' until now
and I could never understand people who could support two teams from the same Football pyramid to be honest.

Same here I have soft spot for clubs I used to watch while living in the area. Darlington, Birmingham City, Hambrug and I have 'second' teams in Rangers and Man Utd. Not to mention I have favourite teams in other European Leagues.

However, if any of those teams ever play the Bluebirds (and Man U will soon) I 100% want their arses kicked by us. But when they play other teams I hope they win.

This is a silly thread obviously aimed at embarrassing Carl.
