I'll be clamping down on bullying/mocking of fellow members

In recent week there seems to be a new trend forming on the message board. For some reason people think its fine to mock people for posting half decent posts.
This is not acceptable on this forum and I will not be tolerating it.

Let me make something clear though, if someone justs calls someone a dickhead for posting something, im not that bothered, we are all adults and can take it, thats just my view, perhaps other mods will disagree.

What I am talking about is the outright bullying and trying anything to discredit people who are only posting what their opinion is, or what they've heard. Getting personal is also totally unacceptable.

Please consider the fact that the people you are replying too are real people, well other than the posters selling kitchens and bathrooms!

Yeah agreed, but if I didn't put that disclaimer in certain people would want half our members banned

I think you will concede that i, more than anyone on here have had to put up with a lot of abuse and name calling without you or any other moderator lifting a finger to rectify,i suspect you find my views hard to take on board,but that doesn't excuse you or any of your fellow moderators for lack of action

I consider you one of the people on here who enjoy defending themselves and their views.

Good point. I have been called a dickhead, thick, dull and the classic 'sell out' loads of times. Par for the course really and I don't see these supposed insults any worse than using the smiley and if others want to use them then so what?

Mind you the thing I hate more than anything is the over use of the victim card. We all post something at sometime which is a minority view (I should know I still think Carl is ITK and Sam's return is a good thing ) and the gang mentality kicks in.

However, that is not an excuse for claiming you have been 'abused' for stating your case. Instead you have a different view which hasn't been accepted. I can remember saying Steve McPhail was the weak link in our midfield and was totally overrated. Yet when MM finally received funds SM was out on his ear and we got promoted. Was I proved right? Not for definite but the circumstantial evidence was very clear.

So my tip is state your case don't get involved in lengthy arguments and bring the issue up at a later date if proved right

In fairness there is number of posters (I'm not one BTW) who seem to get an overwhelming amount of stick. I sometimes wonder how they put up with it?

If your saying i can look after myself,then yes i can,but that cant be the reason for you and your colleagues lack of response to the abuse,i'm a member of this Forum which entitles me to the same protection as the other members enjoy....bottom line Gavin,is i think you and the other moderators have turned a blind eye not just to the abuse thrown at me,but to other contributors on here,who have the temerity not to tow the party line

You're the exception you prat.It would be a badge of honour to get banned for verbaly abusing you if thats at all possible.

I don't know if your under instruction from anyone else to "clamp down", but doing something like this can only make the mocking worse. To be fair my own opinion is Carl has made a rod for his own back with some of the inaccurate comments on here and only he can put that right sometimes by properly holding his hands up and apologising rather than the half hearted approach we have seen so far - be humble, nothing bad in admitting your wrong sometimes, god knows I have been wrong about things more than most - it's not hard to say sorry!!!. To be fair Tony its not Just the Tom Ince thing. There's a whole catalogue of things isn't there, the worst of all was the thread or "full blown arguments" here with Borley and Steve Davies regarding inaccurate statements made about Paul Guy etc. These guys put their hard earned cash behind Cardiff City Football Club over the years (especially at a time when our club needed it most) ok they have been fortunate enough to make some money out of it(they are businessmen after all) but they didn't disappear when the times were tough just as proper Cardiff City fans didn't disappear when we were languishing in the lower leagues. Ask yourselves who did disappear only to now return when things are looking good? The very same person that pissed off a large part of the fan base when he left us high and dry and in the hands of one Peter Ridsdale and who Carl now openly associates himself. Is it any wonder he's getting stick. Like I said the lad does himself no favours.

And no other reason, and one thread recently between city fans was absolutely a joke with nasty name calling! banning is not answer del thread is more effective and instant.

I agree that he shouldnt have to appologise because of the Ince deal falling through but as has already been said he doesnt help himself at times. And to be honest most of the time I just see it as a bit of banter except when it goes to far and bringing personal livesk into it.

I agree with this - people tend to think they"re invincible sat behind a screen. You wouldn't call someone 'thick' or a 'dickhead' in a pub talking about football - you'd be picking glass out of your face for days.

If I'm thinking of the same thread as you mate, it was the one with accusations of drug use and paedophilia flying back and forth. That was one instance where the mods should have jumped on it and killed it off. Unacceptable behaviour, that.

For the last mont the name calling of fellow Supporters has got well out of hand. If anyone continues this after warnings, they will be permanently banned this time, Ive been to soft in the past.

This Forum is for a debating and yes have a laugh but not at another supporters expense
