The campaign to return to Ninian Park.

Sun Jul 21, 2013 11:49 am

Gosh, why not chaps? After-all, It's no more bally ludicrous than certain other disruptive campaigns taking place right now.

How about a campaign to return to having players paid in pounds, shillings and pence and living back on diets of suet and beer? How about Cardiff City's games being broadcast in black and white only - and you have to wear you Sunday Best in order to watch? How about we only pick players whose main job is working down a coal mine or in a steel mill? Cos, hey, we've got to be true to our traditions haven't we? In fact, why don't we have a rule where we only buy players who already speak Welsh? Or you only get entry to the ground if you do?

Let's have a contest to see who can be the most petty-minded and backward looking? How about this: we all abandon our iPads in favor of Morse code?

Sign-up and join the campaign to return to Ninian Park now. You know it makes no-sense at all, but hey! if it gets us relegated to the Sunday Methodist and District football league, lets do it! Cos we can't think of anything better to do with our lives!

Toodle-pip!

Why is it such a problem to some people that fans wish to see their club in their rightful colours?!

I'm getting pissed off with this club!

I hate the rebrand, but the worst bit of it is not the shirt colour or the badge..

It's this type of fan that seems to have a problem with some of us wanting to see our club play in our rightful colours.

I know all you care about right now is PL football, but sorry to say, there are some who value our true identity over a season in the top flight.

Get used to it, this split amongst the fans won't be going away any time soon

I know what you're getting at, but Cardiff City wore the colour blue from 1908 to 2012 :thumbright:

Our rightful colours I said, not our original colours. Learn to read.

Our rightful colours, the one we are known for wearing, the one our nickname originates from... BLUE.

If blue is the criteria you use to choose your club then go support Everton. They play in shitty home ground in a dilapidated area, you might like that too. Do you vote on the basis of colour as well?

Nobody has a problem with your preferences (which are largely the same as everyone else) it is the fact you would see the club harmed or put in danger to achieve that aim. You might think we would be perfectly OK without VT but an overwhelming majority do-not agree.

Until there is an overwhelming majority to have things your way, you will have to put up with the rebrand or walk away like some principled fans have.

In fact, where the blue-rinse brigade when Cardiff City played away games in colours other than blue? They could accept that, couldn't they?

Absolutely correct no-one from that era is still around. However, there is a point that if history and heritage mean so much then why isn't there a campaign to change us back to yellow and brown and call ourselves Riverside FC?

So it is okay for you to get agitated by those that want to embrace and wear red but it's not okay for them to get agitated by your constant calls for a return to blue and the clubs rightful colours instated as you see it......

Each side of the coin is as bad as the other. There are people on both sides just getting on with things and then there are others calling for blue back and others calling for red to be embraced. It's time we realised everyone is different and entitled to their view and if you preach yours others will preach their views.

To paraphrase Morpheus: "You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the colour blue, that they will fight to protect it."

To quote Morpheus again: "This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you remain in the Premier League and start competing in Europe."

Although what you say makes sense, I've never stated that I want Tan out.

I won't walk away, if we all did then blue would eventually fizzle out.

I couldn't affiliate myself to a club that plays in yellow or brown as much as I can't to a team that plays in red.

Whatever era, we've all grown up supporting City in blue. It's what we know and love.

Barnett, I respect that not everyone will have the same view on things as me. That's fine.

By why in the last 12 months or so am I made to feel like a c**t for not wanting this rebrand?

Jibes such as dinosaur and Neanderthal have been used by reluctant reds to describe the people opposing the rebrand.

Do I want to see this club move forward? Yes.

Could that be achieved wearing blue? Of course it could.

What a pitiful, sarcastic leading post.

Saw,'The World's End,' last night; a film that the pro-reds should see. No further comment necessary.
