Branson in a pickle?

Sun Jul 21, 2013 9:18 am

According to Cory Ander in a thread om CCMB ,Sian Branson has said on Facebook

"Still can't understand ppl who say I'm a Bluebird through & through it doesn't matter what we play in! Your clearly not or you'd feel strong enough to stand up for our beloved bluebirds.
I also love the guys who say - What is the matter with these ppl? 'Um turning our club into a toy for Malaysia is something that really annoys us, what with being welsh n all ' lol".

The original thread to be honest got a bit silly last night but the response seemed to be from those defending her that she is bright articulate and that she and her husband are nice people and posters should leave them alone

Sorry not good enough.

She is clearly bright and articulate and I am sure she and hr family ae very nice, but in her position she has to be careful what they say.

The impression I have had is that Bluebirds Unite is not about attacking other fans or VT but purely about returning the club to blue.

Then the leader of the group goes and attacks fans who have a different view to her and accuse them basically of not being true fans.

As a supporter of over 50 years I am very annoyed at this and I am sure many others will be as well.

Now perhaps someone will come on and say that this wasn't actually said. Fine we can draw a line under it and move on.

But if it was said it doesn't look good.

I am already unhappy at the way the group gives the impression that only it and its supporters care for the clubs History Identity and pride. Accusing long term fans (or any fans for that matter) of not being real fans doesn't help.

I want to
Return to blue but I have no interest at all in BU as there are still too many anti tan posts and still all this bollocks about 'against modern football ' just makes me cringe

Too little too late I am afraid

You make some valid points and I'm sure lessons will be learn't as the BU leadership grow into the role.

What gets me are these people who claim to care for the history but basically do bugger all but have a go at BU. BU are the only organisation that are doing anything constructive in support of our history. If people want the history back then do something about it instead of having a go at those who are.

History is history and always will be. Are you saying you want the pre-blue colours back?

Clearly not if the leader of the organisation has the different views to that she is portraying. First Modern football is the enemy and now anyone who doesn't want blue back is not a true supporter

Doesn't read like a big deal to me and she, like everyone else, are entitled to their opinion.

I wish BU would disassociate itself from that 'against modern football' nonsense but then again will Sam coming back cause a rift within the BU camp?

Bit of an own goal IF correct.

Some people need to get a grip though.. Her "position" etc.. She's hardly the PM.

Agreed though, that it shouldn't have been said, IF it was & BU shouldn't be seen to be suggesting that red shirt wearers aren't "true" bluebirds.. (Though, in fairness - it was not posted on BU account).

It's just another matter of opinion though surely. That's her opinion (and many others). Where the flip side could be said that the true fans are the ones who are concerned about the clubs future and existence and are willing to put to one side a colour of a shirt & badge. We all know Tan's a shrewd business man, and in his eyes, has taken over a business that was failing massively. This is the way he thinks is the way forward and he was the only one willing to put in any investment. Didn't Ridsdale scour the globe for investment before TG came onboard? If the equity promise is realised then i firmly believe he has put his money where his mouth is

"Every time" that would be the once then. As soon as BU realised that flag had got in there, they disassociated itself from it.

You say you know it's done that, so why say you wish it would? :laughing5:

spot on no fucker else is willing to invest a button in us he is not a billionaire for nothing But he could have gone around it a bit more diplomatic and maybe came to a compromise on it

Shame on Sian Branson for not being a politician!!!

She did not want to ''front'' the Group in the first place, she was forever asking people
to come forward and take the lead. Well she's just a passionate City fan and at times she is going
to say the wrong thing. It doesnt actually matter WHAT she says, because the Club, or those that are afraid of
upsetting Tan will twist and turn anything she says anyway. She speaks from the heart and in truth
those of us who are dismayed at what Tan has done ARE also dismayed at how easily the rest have
turned over for the sake of Premiership football. So if sometimes she says things that are politically
incorrect? Why on earth would a ''red'' even comment - your already saying that Bluebirds Unite is a
waste of time and that Vincent Tan ''doesnt know it exists'' - so if its so insignificant - ignore it!!!
Stop posting about it!

Wow, enjoyed reading that. Specially the end bit saying BU being a waste of time. If it was such a waste then indeed why quote. People quote because BU is making an impact and may it continue.

I quote"turned over for the sake of Premiership football",what some in BU cannot, or do not want to see, is that most supporters want to see is the club become financially viable and not continue as a basket case.I did not turn over for the sake of Premiership football but for the development of the Club, these remarks will certainly not get me on the side of BU and is not the way to get more support for its aims.

BU stand is that they want Cardiff City in the premier not the premier in Cardiff.

With veiws like this bransons becoming a bit of a joke and alienating a lot of loyal fans who have supported City through thick and thin.
This could be the beginning of the end for BU Imo.

Re: Branson in a pickle?

We want Cardiff in the premiership not the premiership in Cardiff. Of all the cringeworthy quotes this is one of them. Also seen it 500 times!

Well Rob in your post it was claimed that BU were saying people gave up for premier football. You replied most want a stable debt free club.

Well I'm saying that BU want prem football but with Cardiff City not someone else version.

I will agree with you we all want a stable debt free club, who does not, but I do believe a fair numbers priority is premier football regardless.
