Surely clubs agree deals like this with a clause subject to work permit..could you imagine if they couldn't get him one. They would have just paid 12 or so million for a player that possibly may never be able to play for them all because of a work permit.

I know that they will probably sort it out, but it would be hilarious if they couldn't.

He's already played for us in a friendly in Holland and he's now training with Vitesse again.Work permit will be sorted this week and he;ll be in the line up to face Reading in our last friendly. All the signs coming from some of our players is he's an absolute beast and stronger than anyone they've faced before.

Worth a punt for the golden boot?

When was the last time a team out of the top 4 got the golden boot?

No.

Michu wasn't that far behind last season and he was an attacking midfielder.I don't think it'll happen personally but he's sure got some pedigree so who knows.

Good question.Suarez was close last season, just behind van persie.Maybe Shearer when at Newcastle :?:

I just had a look and it was the 1999-2000 season when Kevin Phillips won it with Sunderland.

He also won the European Golden Shoe

Think Bony can get that too? :malky:

Also before then the list is a bit more spread out with a few players getting golden boots while not in the top 4 like Michael Owen at Liverpool and Dion Dublin at Coventry.

Been a closed shop for the last decade.

No offence but the lad done fantastic last year, has huge potential to do well in the Prem. A lot of pressure on him with the price tag.

Paddy Power got him 50/1 which is the same as jelavic! I must admit I think he will do a lot better than the odds suggest but can't see anywhere near the top scorer. Unproven at this level but you never know.

Yep.He's very laid back apparently and you wont see him chasing down balls.Very much like Jason Scotland by all accounts. The price tag is huge so yeah ther'll be quite a bit of pressure on him to perform.I really think he will though.

50's is a crazy price for the current Dutch player of the year and league top scorer.Got to be worth a cheeky pound or two,

Fair enough. Has a real presence about him when he plays from the youtube clips.

Surprised Huw pulled the cash out for this deal mind.

As much as i hate to admit it I think Laudrup's dig fired Huw into action.Laudrups agent was doing all the groundwork in bringing in players, even touting Ashley Williams to anyone who'd listen. We banned him from the club and Huw done it is way.Very well too.

I am not sniping but I know a lad who is a Swansea fan and Laudrup a few weeks ago wanted someone, never mentioned the name but worth 5-7 million.. Huw ended up putting out a target who is the same position but only worth 1-2 million. Weren't happy (Laudrup).

I haven't heard that one,not to say it isn't true though.I reckon Laudrup should be doing cartwheels down Wind St. with the players Huw's managed to bring in though. We''re after a second striker now, apparently.Hoping it's Vydra from Watford (Udinese)

I never made that up, but it could be true or not. You have done well. Saw one lad on SSN with curly hair? The Canas fella, character of a player.

I think you can look a bit higher than him but I bet Huw is going to put down the cash a bit now.

I can imagine but let's be honest the Dutch league is nowhere near what it was. Doesn't mean he won't do well in the PL of course but the PL standard is way above
