THE GOOD AND THE BAD

This forum has become probably the most popular Cardiff City football message board.

What makes this forum good for me is that whenever you look on here there is always the latest news regarding City at the top of board, you don't have to go looking for it throughout pages of threads.

This board has a good mix of posters, some who have managed to keep the forum updated with ongoings at the club whether it be players or finances.

This forum creates good debates and generally remain sensible.

What I personally don't like about this forum is the criticism some posters receive if they post any rumours/gossip/news, the posters are only passing on what they have heard, like myself I only pass on what I am hearing.

The other part of the board I dislike is the wum's and trolls but there again I don't read their topics so I probably don't see half of the mischief they cause.

Carl, I love the rumours of signings on here from whoever they are from and whether they are true or false. I dislike the wum's and trolls with a passion, it spoils the board and many people have left because of them. I enjoy reading all the updates, as you say you don't need to look far to get the latest news.
All in all it's the best board I've been on.

Its constantly the same posters arguing with each other.

It's still a good messageboard but used to be much better!

The same people go off topic on every thread!

Some people are just argumenatative sods, imagine living or working with them. Some are wind up merchants, others need to get a sense of humour by-pass, lets keep it that way.

The best part for me is the fact quite a few of us know each other. I do believe this was kept the keyboard warrior culture down. Another factor is on here there is very little knocking of other message boards, even the PS one. That shows we don't have a chip on the shoulder attitude here.

Sadly because it is a good board we are considered a challenge for the trolls. Whats even more saddening is that some of these trolls are Cardiff fans.

This is the best football forum by a mile.

The worst thing is the jipos get away with murder on here sometimes.

Carl, I like the fact that this forum is far more football centred and there is far more Cardiff based chat than CCMB. I do like some of the sticky's and I prefer the posters on this site.
I also like the fact that this board avoided the perils of every post turning into a rebrand post. (At least up until now)

The bad are the recent influx of jacks and trolls. I believe that this message board is more interested in hits than having a quality cardiff message board. It has allowed the lunatics to take charge of the asylum.
I also dont like the fact that this board is so one sided when it comes to a certain lebanese fella.
If I'm brutally honest I'd rather do without the updates too. I think it just opens you up for criticism and it also often gives many less discerning city fans false hope.

This is the biggest problem for me. The topic in the title of a thread used to remain through the thread but most threads are redirected by people wanting to bring their own style of angst to EVERY thread.

I like the rumours however far fetched they seem. I don't like it when people make them up just for the sake of it. Unfortunately we never know if the OP has heard something or is just up to no good.

As for WUMs I do wish there was a concerted effort to NOT reply, they would soon stop, but I know only to well how hard it is not to bite. Perhaps the first reply can be a DO NOT REPLY message them we can all leave it alone.

Oh and I do not understand what constitutes a sticky, they seem random and self serving at best. Surely we should just allow the most interesting threads to naturally rise to the top.

loved this site since the early days but don't use it so much now as the wums and trolls as you put them get on my tits.

I'm afraid this board has lost a lot of its credibility in the last month for me.
Most are seeing the updates for what they are .. guess work and twitter feeds.

I think Annis and Tony have openly claimed to their credit that leaked sources are been truly plugged.

I don't claim to be the ITK but the Ince saga was never going to happen after the Paul Ince interview IMO .

CCMB has more proper Football debate, this forum has more Gossip and rumors, but i like a bit of Gossip

You are correct about the Trolls Wayne, if they get the bite then they have succeeded, ignoring them would be the best option.

As for stickies then it is what is considered to be newsworthy/City related or a topic that stimulates debate and encourages users to get involved in threads.

Bad Points: Swansea trolls who post their swansea news on here like it's a Jack MB.

Also I feel the site loses credibility with the updates. Everyone has pretty much worked out now that nobody is truly ITK anymore and Updates are nothing more than guess work and well worded posts (ie posts that have 'escape' clauses in them).

This is in no disrespect to anyone, it's just that Malky and his recruitment team are very quiet and secretive - I prefer it this way.

I don't think you can whinge about being criticised when a lot of incorrect "facts" have been posted on here. Some claim for patience when it comes to transfers, yet the same people post about which signings were about to make, when every time this off season they've been proved wrong.

Cornelius signing has proved that nobody is ITK anymore & I advice those to stop posting in that manner.

I also feel that this forum has an agenda, which it tries to force on it's posters (Hammam last week as a prime example) when it should let the members decide for themselves.

Seems like this site is the highlight of your day, You really do need to get out a bit more if that's the case. Haven't you got any friends up your way you can have fun with? Girlfriend? Boyfriend? something to occupy you other than spending your life on a rivals messageboard? Quite sad. Try getting yourself out a bit.. Maybe take your mother to the local bingo hall or something

From the day one of my following CCFC, this board is my main 'place to go' for CCFC news and fans opinions. I know that if I look in here, I will have a compilation of articles, from different media, as soon as they appear with link to original material attached. That doesn't mean that I do not read other sources, I do, but CardiffCityForum is the first page I always go to.

I also enjoyed is the exchange of opinions between posters/admins in here and journalists in Echo for example, it showed (to me at the time) that this forum is read not only by fans but by many others, including people from the club.

What happens sometimes, is that I stop to follow a topic, when it turns to smth else. People having a go on each other for many, often strange reasons. But that is impossible to avoid I guess.
