" INCE TO DECIDE BY THIS FRIDAY. "

Wed Jul 10, 2013 11:24 pm

Tom Ince has asked Cardiff City to give him until Friday to decide if he wants to join the newly promoted Premier League club.

Cardiff and Blackpool have agreed an £8m fee, rising to £8.5m, but Ince is still weighing up whether to commit his future to the Welsh club.

Ince travelled with his father, Paul, who is manager at Blackpool, to Cardiff on Monday to discuss the proposed move and get a feel for the club and the city. Cardiff felt that the talks were positive and had hoped that the England Under-21 international would agree to sign.

Ince, however, informed Cardiff on Wednesday that he has still not made up his mind. There is no indication that any other club are prepared to match Cardiff's offer for a player who will be out of contract in 12 months' time, meaning that Ince is likely to spend another season in the Championship with Blackpool if he turns down the chance to move to the Welsh capital.

He'd be great for us and i hope he signs and yes he needs time because its a big move for him but somethings not right.I get the impression his hearts not in the move or he's hoping a bigger team comes in for him.I hope I'm wrong on both counts.we'll find out soon enough.

pretty obvious he just wants a big club to come in for him! he should be jumping at the chance of 1st team football instead of a bench player at spurs/liverpool etc

i agree he'd get plenty of game time at city and if things go well for him a huge transfer could be on the cards.

What about the other signings Carl any likely to happen this week?

I'm not sure how I feel about this stalling on a decision from Ince. On the one hand it's good to see a player not just jumping straight in for a big pay day, yet on the other hand its a little bit disappointing that having spent the day around the club with Malky,he hasn't felt confident enough to make an immediate decision?
If that means, he is looking for a bigger club, will that always be the case if he joins us? And therefore when things get tough, which they undoubtedly will this season, will he be one of the first that loses his fight and goes off the boil??

its no secret he is one of the hottest british prospects in the English game, I think people should bare in mind he's only a kid and would have to move to Wales, its bound to be nerve wracking for him, perhaps he was hoping to move down the road to Liverpool but that hasn't materialised, Im sure that he will be holding up a City shirt soon enough, and as a youngster im sure he will enjoy life in Cardiff, Ive got my fingers crossed, I really want him here.

He's not a kid really, at his age you can go to war.
He's been around football all his life so he knows what's what.
He obviously doesn't want to come here. Why would he want to come here, at the moment our side looks poor for this division.

I wouldnt come here, I would rather elsewhere, he's probably too good for us

Re: INCE TO DECIDE BY THE WEEKEND

Thu Jul 11, 2013 7:46 am

Blackpool want him sold , better to have 4m (after paying Liverpool) now than nothing next year. But I believe Paul Ince is telling his son , to stay at Blackpool for another year and have a bumper pay cheque , when he's a free agent .

Re: INCE TO DECIDE BY THE WEEKEND

Thu Jul 11, 2013 7:48 am

If I was Malky I would tell him you have had enough time and say no to a time extension, this is becoming a farce and making Cardiff look desperate. How many other players that MM is after will pull this card at this stage we could be left hanging on until the final day of the transfer window.

Answer needed now Incy or stay building sand castles

For all we know its Malky has given an ultimatum here. Blackpool have to sell. If they hold on to him til
January he will not leave as he will only have a few months left on his contract. They stand to lose a lot
of money. To be fair it is a huge move for him. But if he is hanging on for a better offer then he's a fool.
Every footballer is only one injury away from the end of their career. Life is all about taking opportunities!!

I'd actually think a lot more of him if he just told the truth and said 'can I please have 48 hours to alert the press and let everyone know so a bigger club can come in at the 11th hour and hijack the deal'. :(

Exactly - life is about taking opportunities! Ince snr was an ass and upset a lot of fans in his playing days, I hope we are not seeing another here (like father like son). This garbage I'm reading he's only 21 and he's moving to another city is embarrassing.
The lads being paid a fortune and can live a life of luxury at his young age. I hope I'm wrong on this, but he's acting like a prima donna - I want more time........ There are millions of kids would love the opportunity to play professional football and in the premier league - actually playing week in week out. If a Man U, City, Chelsea came in - he'd rot in the reserves! This kid should be jumping at the bit. Personally, I hope Malky has someone else lined up and pulls the rug from underneath him.
You don't need time to think about playing PL football - especially when no other offers are on the table.

I would now go and tell him that we are withdrawing our interest, leaving Blackpool and Paul Ince in a pickle as they will not get that offer for him again as Blackpool will be preyed upon for a much lesser transfer fee and being forced into accepting it to cash in on Ince.

No time to be dilly dallying Malky!

Got to agree with that, time to tell him 'deals off ' you had long enough.

I did say earlier in the week to give him breathing space but this is taking the piss.

If he doesn't really want to be here be a man and say it FFS.

It's becoming embarrassing for the boy. Obviously we don't know everything, but I can imagine there are a lot of eyebrows being raised in the PL and Championship. let's be honest - he's no f''''''' George Best is he.

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has confirmed he will have a decision on £8m target Tom Ince by tomorrow morning.

The Bluebirds have had a bid accepted by Blackpool, where Ince's father - former England star Paul - is manager and the pair were in Cardiff earlier this week to discuss contract details and personal terms.

They have both now returned to pre-season training at Blackpool with Mackay insisting he will have a decision from the player on Friday morning.

"There is no ultimatum of any kind," said Mackay. "This was always the timescale.

"Tom and his father have been on holidays and they also had some domestic issues to sort. Now they have had time to think and the ball is in their court.

"We will have Tom's decision on Friday morning.

"If he wants to become a Cardiff City player then great, but if not we will move on to out next targets
