Tom Ince to decide on Cardiff City offer in next 48 hours

Malky Mackay will resume talks with £8m-rated Ince today as the Bluebirds boss looks to complete a deal for the England under-21 international.

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay will spend today attempting to convince transfer target Tom Ince his future lies in the Welsh capital.

The 21-year-old Blackpool flyer is in Cardiff to discuss personal terms, with talks set to resume today.

Club insiders are confident Ince, who is being accompanied by his father, Blackpool boss Paul, was suitably impressed by a tour of Cardiff City’s stadium and training facilities yesterday.

But it is likely to be a day or two yet before the wide man reaches a final decision on a move to Wales, with Mackay hoping to be at his persuasive best as he looks to wrap up the deal.

The Bluebirds have already had an £8m offer for Ince accepted.

Mackay has offered assurances to Ince and his father that the youngster will be a regular part of his plans in the Premier League this season.

Ince started his career at Liverpool – one of his father’s former clubs – and the Reds will pocket 35% of any fee after negotiating a sell-on clause.

“We’ve had a bid accepted and Tom has been on holiday,” Mackay said last week.

“He’s back and we are going to be talking to him over the next couple of days.

“We are very keen to push things forward, he’s a young and exciting player. He needs to play football and that is something that both his dad and I realise.”

The highly-rated Ince scored 18 goals in 47 appearances for Blackpool last season.

He also hit the ground running this term when he came off the bench to score in Blackpool’s 2-0 friendly win against Penrith on Saturday.

It's alright his Dad saying he's got time in the future to play in the PL, but you never know with potential injuries, Etc.
No time like the present, you have to take your chances when they come knocking - as they may never come again. Also, lets assume if a top 6 side came in for him right now, how many starts would he seriously get - not many in my opinion. He's by no means the finished article and he's a big gamble we're taking. However, I believe he'd be daft not to come here!

It is possible to shine for a team in a relegation battle too, look at Benteke, Kone, Remy etc lasy year.

If he wants to play regular football he signs with us or stays with Blackpool. If he wants to play regular premier league football he signs with us.

ssn has just announced that Tom Ince has had talks with us but would prefer to stay in the North West, ideally go back to Liverpool. Apparently they are due 50% of any transfer fee. This soap opera goes on and on.
