Swansea City have warned fans they will be refused entry into the home end of their ground if they wear Manchester United shirts for Saturday's game.
The Premier League champions make their first visit to the Liberty Stadium, with the game a 20,520 sell-out.
The ban on United clothing was welcomed by the Swansea supporters' club.
The Swans, who have made a bright start to life in the top flight, are urging supporters to wear the club colours of black and white in the home end.
Swansea have told fans on their website: "Any supporters wearing Manchester United attire attempting to gain entry into the home sections will be refused entry, and will not be relocated to the away end due to Manchester United selling their full allocation."

Any away fans in the home section deny Swansea City supporters the opportunity to watch the game at the Liberty Stadium”
Swansea City spokesperson
Phil Sumbler, chairman of Swansea City supporters trust said the difference with seeing shirts from top flight clubs in the home section is that the Swans are now in the same division.
"I think it's been one of those generic observations that over the course of time it's not unusual to see Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea shirts at matches," he said.
"The difference is this season they are all the opposition.
"Swansea, like any city, has got a decent amount of Man Utd followers and you are not always going to get the chance to get to Old Trafford and they might see this as an opportunity.
"I'm sure anybody who is in the home end and wearing any Man Utd merchandise would be told by supporters before they are ejected."
Record sales
Swansea City have enjoyed record sales of the club's shirt for their first season in the Premier League.
An initial allocation of 6,000 shirts sold out on the first day alone when they went on sale in the summer, with fans having to wait until September for the next batch to arrive.
After 30 years in the lower leagues since their last top flight game, Mr Sumbler said people were "once again proud" of supporting the Swans.
A Swansea City spokesman said: "It is club and stadium policy that we do not encourage away shirts in the home stands for any game, not just Manchester United.
"We cannot currently satisfy the ticket demands for Swansea City fans, who are our priority.
"Away clubs receive an allocation of around 2,000 tickets for the away section. Any away fans in the home section deny Swansea City supporters the opportunity to watch the game at the Liberty Stadium."

I seem to remember at wembley as one of their rules if your caught wearing the opposition shirt in the wrong end you can face being ejected from the game.
To be honest I do agree with the jacks on this, it'll cause more problems as its likely to antagonise the home support. Your never going to stop local glory supporters from attending but they should be refused to allow to wear their shirts

That article says Swansea sold out 6000 ! Home shirts on the first day.
Didn't we only sell 200

surly you would think that would ring alarm bells at the club, sadly nobody at the club has the balls to tell Tan those figures

I remember down the Bay for the parade, someone turned up in a Man U jacket and was berated and taking the piss out of until he left. So can't see fans in the stadium taking it very well if someone turns up in non Cardiff gear, I certainly wouldn't.

why have you got to ruin a perfectly sensible thread with an inane comment...
but since you have insisted on dragging it all down.. how could you tell if there was any Utd supporters in your home end anyway, since Vinnie has insisted you are all wannabee Man Utd clones... there you go

There are still a few numpties who think Tan will go bankrupt if we dont sell enough shirts

there was a man utd fan in the east stand when we played them at home this season, utd scored first and this fan went up to celebrate, resulting in about 20 fans escorting him into the hands of the stewards (with a few sly punches along the way)

Not likely to happen, 20 k plus St holders, plus Gold members, silver members, ST waiting list, no room at the Inn!

They did that for Man U and Liverpool. It was all in the media and the talk of the town (well, neath!)
To be fair, it was easy for them to seethe RED Man U and liverpool shirts amongst a sea of white shirts (even knuckle-dragging swans fans can just about manage that!)
Will a red Man U or Liverpool shirt stand out as much at our games I wonder?!
To be be fair, the red and black home kit, constant wins, and the top of the table status made me think I was watching Man U at times last season! LOL!!!!

Says the club behind us on the field and off. The club with a beer mat for a badge and a new colour shirt but different colour lego ground. A club with some of the most banning orders in the country, a club that is the laughing stock of football who think their massive but eent 51 years without a game at the highest level. Deluded

Behind off the field? 27000 v 20000 says not. Lego ground v concrete jungle (are the travellers still in your car park?).
Banning orders being reduced with only 1 arrest at the CCS last season-we are moving forwards. Will your fans still be wearing armbands and will your tannoy man still be playing cheer up malky mackay etc next season? Will your players still try to endear themselves to Toozey and his BNP neanderthals by doing the swim away. Face facts your club is rotten to the core with its only pride being its hatred of the capital. 5p in the £ as well. Karma will bite you lot on the backside soon enough and when it happens the football world will be chuckling loudly.

If we are in debt we only pay back 5p in the £ don't we? Is that the way to run a club????
