This is the same Huw Jenkins that added a £15m buy out clause in young Joe Allens contract.

I recently took over a pub, the previous tenants left and also left a pile of unpaid debts. I regularly get the bailiffs in looking for them.
Now, I've taken over a struggling business from scratch and in no way do I feel liable for the previous tenants debts, or should I?

If the debts are in the clubs name then yes.

Liverpool stumped up the cash... amazing.. but they did.. he wasn't actually worth it and even though he did well for us I would never claim he was worth that.
So to say that there is double standards from HJ is ridiculous

It is double standards, your just too stupid to understand.
He's astonished at the price of Ince yet is guilty of doing the exact same thing with his own players. Doesnt matter what his intentions were.

We didn't want to sell Joe Allen, but his head had been turned and that was that..
The way it works.. if a club is happy to sell they do it at a realistic price.. if the do it begrudgingly then the inflate the price... try to understand if you aren't to stupid..![]()

He's quite happy to sell for over-inflated prices but not prepared to pay them. In my view there's nothing wrong with that but by going live on air and moaning about it smacks of hypocrisy. Double standards.
Telling me how it works and you aint even got a clue.

If you're going to call people stupid, at least get the correct spelling. Or you REALLY would look stupid.

If I took on the previous debts at this pub, I would be out of business within a month, my point is, it's not my fault that the previous owners got themselves into trouble, why should I be burdened with something that had nothing to do with me? It's a similar situation to the one that the Swans board found themselves in when they took over? Albeit on a much smaller scale.
As to the point of the thread, I'm not sure what he's on about when he says Ince is overpriced and then he stumps up £6m for Shelvey? No idea whatsoever? Unless there is a big difference in wages, but I would imagine Shelvey will be taking home a decent wedge.

Im sure he would agree that joey was overpriced. What do you suggest he do though. Say hang on Liverpool I know you will pay 15 but I think it would be better for the sake of British players if you only paid 5. British players are overpriced no doubt, hj just statef the fact that he felt ince would go for too much. Bare in mind its 3m more than we paid for a Spanish international winger with champions league experience.
