THIS IS WHAT OUR KIT COULD HAVE BEEN

Sat Jun 15, 2013 8:59 pm

Back in February I was shown these kit designs that were offered to City by designer Karl Payne.

After Karl's popular badge design of last year, he was invited to design kits for this season for the club, now that it is known his designs are not to be used, I thought I would share with you what was designed and on offer to the club.

I like how Karl tried to bring blue back into the home shirt and shorts.

The different badges you see were also a request by club officials to redesign the badge.

What are your thoughts?

I quite like the last one, even through its our 6fingered friends from down west colours.
2nd ones looks decent.
Ive never bought a city top for myself only for my kids (blue) I tend to get polo shirts

Really dont think blue and red works together although I would rather the blue with red than no blue at all. I love the 3rd and 4th kits though as away kits, they look smart as! Good work Karl from one designer to another I think you've done awesome with all the kits and badges

Honestly, don't get this red with a bit of blue stuff. Do we really want to turn into Crystal Palace? Our best option is to keep things as they are for now, and work towards swapping round the current home and away kits. In other words, play at home in the kit we wore at Watford and Hull. After that, think about the badge, and make the bluebird more prominent.

Hard for people to say they don't like them when it is designed on the computer, be great to see how they would look made.

The guy is very talented, have always said that and it's a bloody damn shame his brilliant badge couldn't be used,

I love the badge,

The kits r also good :ayatollah:

I would actually buy the second shirt with the dominant blue

Too busy to do any better than this..

All look good but we were always going to get a puma template.

Personally really like the 3rd kit, very smart, ideal as an away kit.

I've kinda given in with the badge now. If it's not our crest then it's never good enough. I liked the original Karl badge as an alternative but it's about the kit colour more than the badge tbh

I like his shirts and badges, but Vincent Tann wants us to wear red, so to be honest ot was a complete waste of his time unless he had done a 90% red design with badge with 90% dragon and tiny bluebird.....

Shame though because they are nice, but it was never going to happen.....

All the respect in the world to you but I dont like any of them sorry mate with the exception
of the 3rd kit across which would be a decent away shirt.

Dont like the Blue and Red together, its no more Cardiff City than just the Red alone so I dont
see the point.

Just my opinion before anyone fly's off the handle.

The last two are classy, however obviously that last one is too white for us.

Number 2 looks good. If you invert the red and black on the shirt I think this is perfect amount of red for Tan. :ayatollah:

The reasons none of the ones in the OP were not accepted because of the lack of red. Overall a massive fan of your work.

It's a shame because those are very nice kits. Tan also could have had a look at one of those badges as they are a lot more appealing than the beer mat of a badge we have now.

blue and red seems to work well for Spain and its quite unique at club level? I like it anyway.
Cant believe the amount of likes for the black and white one :o ...and these people moan about red!!! you couldnt make it up, only at cardiff city hey.

i cant believe the club never used any of these.....terrible decision.

If Tan used the first three kits and Karl's badge for next season then id accept the compromise and be happy. I would accept that as the fans vision and Tans integrated.

Its a shame the man will never do it. :(

The 4th kit looks like the Jerks :o and it's a big NO from me but the other 3 kits are decent fair play :ayatollah:

Re: THIS IS WHAT OUR KIT COULD HAVE BEEN

That black and white one is offensive.

I don't really like any of the badges either. Some of them look cool but not as a badge on a kit.

I just want the old one back.

I like the red kit with blue arms!!!!!! :o And I am a pro blue! Think it looks well smart. A merger of Tans red and our blue?

Any chance of a bigger picture as I cant make the badge designs out!

Great work Karl, sadly all in vain again :(

Hmmm, I actually prefer the third (from the left) in black and red :ayatollah:

Two others make us look like Palarse and the last one...well, let's just say there would be a bigger uproar than the original red given the scum that also wear those colours not too far down the M4 West :(

Re: THIS IS WHAT OUR KIT COULD HAVE BEEN

I am pro Blue and against the Red but I actually think the current kid, with white shorts is smarter :? and would have
looked realy good in blue.

Nice kit designs but understand why the club didnt use them cos of the blue cos getting that compromise is still work in progress, but why the hell didnt the club take on board one of his designs for the club badge, they said they were gonna consult fans and change it but I really don't get why we got the same beer mat badge, the badge designs by Karl are top class fair play
