How is the second option a choice . No vt no club at the moment unless of course there is a plan in place should tan walk away

Re: Poll on rebrand

I voted for the blue even if Tan has to go

Re: Poll on rebrand

I havent voted simply as I would choose 2 but for Tan to go there has to be someone willing to buy him out and right now can't see that happening not untill the debt is sorted.

We'll have to disagree on that one.

I'm not disputing that the club would almost certainly get relegated if Tan were to leave, but no club??

I didn't believe that it was red or dead last yr (red or struggle, yes) but if the club are sensible and don't spend money on players on outrageous and unsustainable wages, don't build the training ground and don't expand the stadium (lets be fair, neither are absolute necessary, the club will survive without them) then the club will be in a position to part company with Tan and still survive perfectly comfortably.

The PL money changes an awful lot of things.

The club is also a saleable asset for the first time in many years.

And there lies the difference Alfie if tan had pulled out last year we would have been able to trade for another couple of months that all.
I would love to see us still playing in blue but at the moment I don't see any alternatives and I certainly don't see anybody who disagree with that opinion come up with any evidence or financial plan to back up their opinions.
If tan said tomorrow ok it's back to blue and I'm off but I'm taking the premiership money to pay the clubs debt back to me how would we survive.
It's alright saying we are a saleable asset now but we would need another tan like investor to come in and take a gamble on us not being relegated and there did not seem to be many of them around two years ago when we were in the high court being wound up by HMRC.
If tan goes ahead and pays Sam of in the next few months that will take up a large portion of the premiership money and we will still be reliant on him pumping money in to get us through the season.

Got to be blue for me. Last season should have been one of the seasons ever, and the most exciting pre-season, but I'm not too bothered at the moment. The red has ruined it for me to be honest.

Actually im a reluctant red and appreciate what VT has done for the club.

I hoped that in the here and now the BU realise they may just push out VT and the consequences of that.

Do you really want the sort of person that would walk away because of the colour of the shirt in charge of our club?

Anyway it's academic, there is no way tan would walk away. HE HAS EVERYTHING TO LOSE AND NOTHING TO GAIN FROM WALKING AWAY.

Even finishing bottom of the PL next season guarantees just over £60m of TV money alone, due to the, frankly, extraordinary new TV deal.To put some perspective on it,Man Utd 'only' received £61m in total for winning the PL this season! On top of that a relegated club receives parachute payments of £23m,£18m,£9m and £9m respectively over the following four seasons.

http://www.totalfootballmag.com/feature ... er-league/

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013 ... e-fortunes

In addition to that,of course, gate receipts will greatly increase. If so many fans weren't currently swerving official red and 'beermat' badge merchandise, sales of that would go through the roof too.

Hospitality and promotional opportunities for the club will also sky rocket,as will sponsorship and advertising revenue streams.

Add in overseas television financial deals and PL prize money and we are talking 'game changing' money.

Yes,if we want rid of Tan,we'll have to postpone such luxuries as stadium expansions and new training grounds, plus we'd have to forget about stellar signings, in the short term too.2 or 3 players with PL experience would have to suffice,at best

BUT we do have the opportunity to get rid of Tan (if that becomes the desire of the majority) and get our identity back and more importantly get a more long term financially viable football club, but,as supporters,we'd have to manage our own expectations in the short term.

I'm afraid and i mean this with the greatest of respect,if you really believe its still 'red or dead 'or 'Tan or bust,' you are either kidding yourself or you've swallowed too much of your mate,Steve Borley's rhetoric.

Yeah thats right, even if we are rude to him he will leave us in good stead or are you calling him a liar?

I recall he would seek new investors.

Re: Poll on rebrand

Fri Jun 14, 2013 10:25 pm

Again as I said there has to be someone willing to buy the club in the first place. And if there isnt that limits VT's options, eitehr keep his shares in the club and no longer invest or take us into admin to recoup what he's owed.

That's right.....no mention of walking away like some have been brainwashed into believing.

When this was said the best way new investors would be found is getting us to the premier. Hence why I believed Tan would have still invested if we stayed blue. He needed us in the premier to walk away without loss of face.
