Everton last week, Barcelona (again) this week...delusions of grandeur ever a phrase you've come about?
Aside from the ludicrous claims. Good luck in your fight against the rebrand, the whole episode sums up what is wrong with football. Respect the Bluebirds!!

If you read the article properly you can quite easily understand what was meant.

Well the headline in your local paper that drew my attention was ''Craig Bellamy: Cardiff City are miles bigger than Swansea - more like Barcelona'' not sure which bit i'm mis-reading.
Only wanted to offer my support to the Cardiff fans who wore blue for 100 yrs before a buinessman strolled in and was allowed to do as he pleased. WHU have had thier fair share of dodgy owners and at present I wonder if ther is a sting in the tail for us, but we'd never stand by and wacth our identity get stripped from us. Somehow I can't see Everton or Barelona ever finding themselves in your position...

No chance of Barcelona but I'd fancy the Athletic Bilbao comparison. Get the club established in the premiership and make sure local talent comes to us. Bilbao have had the odd really good season in the last 20 years. They spend approximately £55-£60m a year like most mid-table premiership clubs and have got to the domestic and Europa cup finals in recent years. That would be as far as my dreams for cardiff could stretch. Bilbao have finished 5th and 6th in the league in the last 10 years which I also think is too much of a stretch. It relies on lots of things being done right at the club from this point on, not impossible but not a certainty either.

I don't put WHU in the big club category, but we are a far bigger club than Cardiff are or ever will be. I'd regard Bilbao as a bigger club than us so I'm not sure why you believe your of a similar stature or do you mean IF you were in the top flight for 100 yrs and play Euro football for 60 yrs you'd be of similar stature? Do you realise how stupid it sounds?

Most of us are realistic enough to know where we are in the hierarchy of football teams..
Even though london and surround have at least 12 times more population than cardiff with surround, WHU have competition from other London clubs.
With cardiff -this is not really the case.
There is potential.
(although this new guy is trying to fuk it up with his changes of colour and badge)
We would have to be up with the big boys for many seasons before we even think that we can be big.
We havent kicked a premier league ball yet (ever) -
so we should see how we fair before writing anything as it could make as look like silly twats!

Any more marches planned against the demons? people like Tan need to be banished.
Has bellamy been any good this season, big part of his game was his pace and i'm guessing it may be leaving him - is he adapting his game to suit?

One thing is for sure mate-there wasn't a defence in the prem that wasn't shit scared of him and it'll be the same next season.Theres a couple of good seasons left in him yet.And given the choice between what we've got now and extinction I'll take the former. The only biters on here are are the like minded children so hurry up and get off then fuc.k off.

So you ask for someone's opinion, they give theirs then you tell them they need a reality check
Not grasping the concept of what you asked are you

Bellamy was very good this season but shows we have a decent side when players like Kim, Hudson and Campbell probably stood out on more occasions than Bellamy. I honestly think he will be better next season without the Olympics and everything else he was dealing with when he should have been having a pre-season. Think next year will be his last big display in the big time because his pace could start leaving him soon although no signs of it yet.

OOOOOh so you don't deny getting off then.

Anyone that comes on here comparing knob sizes will always get shit.As for the rebrand, most of what you read is bullshit even on here and on that score from what you've said would be the last one that could educate me.
PS I'll try harder--have a nice day

then f**k off

I have been a City fan for a long time, long enough to know, that when ever we have been on a level footing, we have always been bigger than the jacks. A lot of the sensible jacks that post on here, even agree.
Jacks have only ever finished higher than us 20 seasons in their whole existence.
We are now in the same league and on the same points as far as I'm concerned. Football can change quickly, and fortunes can turn in a single season.

I wouldn't call that fishing. It's more like a pathetic maggot squirming at the side of the lake.

So basically this is how this board works;
Cardiff fans claim to be bigger than Barcelona/Everton/the world - rival supporter highlights how embarrassing it is - Cardiff fans throw toys out of pram as everyone in UK thinks they're a tiny franchise club???...get a grip but goodluck with the re-brand issues to those who half a brain.
Mon Jun 03, 2013 12:30 pm
