Latest CCFC News ' THOUSANDS ARE WAITING '

Thu May 23, 2013 8:27 pm

There are now approximately 3,500 fans on the waiting list for season tickets and it is continuing to grow each day.

There is a possibility that because of the extra seats being installed in the next few weeks, the club may release 200 of these for season tickets. It will be dependant on how many seats can be added before a final decision is made whether or not to release a couple of hundred more season tickets.

Premier League officials have visited the club three times since our promotion and have advised the club on what major improvements need to be made ahead of the season start.

Sky TV have extended the gantry above the Ninian Stand, so since the stadium was first built it has now trebled in size, all the cables have been installed and the extended gantry is now complete.

Those of you who have purchased tickets for the upcoming Bon Jovi concert can expect to receive the tickets in coming days as the tickets are at the ticket office ready for dispatch.

Thought they would've used the new gantry above the directors' box for Sky and MOTD. Much better angle when broadcasting too, Ninian gantry looks quite low.

Now that is an insult. I agree Annis, however the rebrand hasn't put as many people off going as everyone first thought. Lots of posters on here, including myself, yourself, Chuckles etc etc are dead against the rebrand but have decided we love Cardiff City more.

I'm reluctant to support the expansion of our stadium because the fans simply don't come if we aren't playing at the top level which is a crying shame.

Your right were still going. I do know many many fans who no longer go.
Correct in my opinion, if we dont do well next season,We would struggle to fill a bigger stadium the year after.

Next season the Stadium will start at approx 27,000-27,500, depending on work completed.

Build it and they will come.

From Builth Wells to Upper Cwmtwch, they will come, they will come, be they red, blue, socialist or just a general dickhead they will come.

Arup, well known f*cking idiots did initial designs, then Sam put it to "tender" without success. I could explain the ins and outs of what, on an Engineering level, happened but then CCMB would go into melt down mode. Sam played political game and lost, yeh the idiots don't see it but thats why we have a stadium for egg chasers and not not football. The small minded left wing dribbling idiots cannot see their hand in front of their face.

But hey ho who gives a f**k?

I support Cardiff City, have for many, many years and always will.

As with most clubs out crowds have grown bigger as we've climbed the divisions. It's not like we were averaging 23k in league 2. So it's another natural progression to grow again in the PL. If they are new fans then great, kids especially like to align to successful clubs and if we can keep a generation of kids away from supporting Liverpool or Man U then it's only good for Cardiff City :ayatollah:

"but have decided we love Cardiff City more" That all sounds very romantic, but you know and i know, that everytime you and the thousands of others sat your sorry arses on a seat in the CCS last season, then you were endorsing the colour change. No protests, no boycotts no anti red banners nothing. Just 20k+ city fans every other week turning up in their droves, uttering their disgust at the change to red, then taking their places in the stadium. A few had the conviction to stay away, while the majority just bent over and took it, whilst disguising it all under smoke screens such as "it's still Cardiff City" blah blah blah etc etc etc. For those who genuinely accepted the rebrand, then good for you. For those like yourself and others who you claim hated the change, then i hope you are happy next season watching the bluebirds run out in red shirts, red shorts and red socks. You have achieved your dream, but imo, have sunk lower than a snakes belly to achieve it. Sorry if this post upsets a few on here, but as a lifelong City fan, i am angry and bitter at the way a guy like Tan was able to swan in, and threaten us and blackmail us, with threats of pulling out, and the club dying, if we didn't run with him. A guy who has publicly stated, he doesn't mind losing a qtr of our fanbase to get his own way.
If he had had the decency to put the rebrand and all that it entails to a democratic vote, to the ST holders and fanbase, and the result had come back as a yes, then i'd have been more than willing to participate, but as far as i'm concerned he can shove his vision/dream/moneymaking plan up his arse.

It's not sad it's something we been hoping for, for many years, did people think we would survive or get anywhere without attracting a new audience. Obviously a new stadium, a successful team in a good safe atmosphere will attract more people.

Everyone has to have a first game, I love the fact we have new fans some who would last year have called themselves Man united fans or whatever, they are now Cardiff fans and welcome aboard.

I don't look down on these so called new fans, in fact I can understand why they weren't attracted to us before, there have been times when I though t I was mentally impaired for spending my money and time watching crap football in an empty stadium, I am no better than them, and they are nor better than me, we are all Cardiff Fans, and we are all equal and have a part to play. :old:

Tottenham Hotspur have a waiting list of 32k for season tickets...
People who know they're not gonna get one....

Would you consider them plastics?

We have a waiting list of 3k

The more success we have, the more often we are in match of the days, Super Sunday, MNF or Saturday nights Game of the day, the more we will have fans starting to support Cardiff city..
Youngsters walking round the streets wearing Cardiff tops instead of Manure and Liverpool.

Surely that's what we all want...

The Cardiff fans of old,Cardiff Originals if you will, now have a duty to educate youngsters of where we have come from and not to forget our past, for it paves our future.
That is more important than hating someone for suddenly becoming a fan when they were not before.

Plastic fans are just something that comes with the Premier League territory. It was the same when we got promoted from League Two to League One (or Division 3 to Division 2 as it was then). I remember we randomly gained about 8,000 out of nowhere for the first home game of the season in League One and then the same happened when we went up to the Championship.

I've not renewed lads. That's my choice. However, if you've chosen to renew then don't let silly things like plastic fans dampen your Premier League experience. Enjoy it and savour it for those of us who are too stubborn to be able to be there! :D :ayatollah:

Nice rant but also a little bias in it's slant?.

VT offered us a deal we either took it or rejected it so how is that bullying, blackmailing or threatening? Every day deals are done in business on the back of terms and conditions and in our case they were £100m investment for a rebrand.

The majority of fans were pragmatic enough to understand that to survive and thrive as a club we needed to accept VT's offer. Your bitterness comes from the fact that you ended up in the minority and therefore didn't get your own way.

You then ask for a democratic vote. Fine nobody can argue that's wrong but would VT be allowed to put his side of the argument or would his 'terms' i.e. £100m for the rebrand be classed as 'threatening?'

See I suspect that you wouldn't accept any vote as 'democratic' unless it was construed to deliver a 'No' vote.

Get over it we are living the best days of our lives as CCFC fans and I for one can't thank Vincent Tan enough for that.

Couldn't agree more as I absolutely hate the term 'Plastic'

From what I remember the term derives from armchair fans who claim to be supporters of teams like Man U even though they have never set foot in Manchester.

Surely a newly recruited season ticket holder can't be described as that? They are what they are "new fans" and we should be celebrating that fact rather than inventing derogatory names for them.

As for the old ones who have been around so long they can remember Ninian Park ;) they are obviously the diehards or even vintage supporters

Come on everyone the glass is most definitely three quarters full at CCFC :ayatollah:

I think you'll find that the term Plastic's, is from the so called fans, who don't have season tickets or any ticket, but decide to go last moment, and they use their plastic cards to pay, no doubt somebody will tell me I'm wrong, but I think that's the reason.
