Not worth it. He can't cut it in the Premier League. He didn't even start for Northampton in the league 2 play off final.

This has got to be a joke right?

We cannot be looking at signing players like Akinfenwa, Christ, we would get related from leauge 1 with him up top!

Your gonna get slaughtered! :laughing6:

In all seriousness though, he's not in his prime. He's 31 and thats getting on a bit for a 17 stone striker! That aside, he should have made a lot more of his career than he did, and that was down too his own attitude. He was a great success with us in league 1, but broke his leg and was still offered a new 12 month contract when we entered the championship despite a broken leg and not played for 6 months or so. He turned it down and went to the lower leagues instead of trying to prove himself. So all in all a bit of a wanker who thinks he's better than he is! ;)

He thinks he is better than he is because he dropped down a division to prove himself :?

A striker that's just been released by a L2 team & you want to sign him for our first PREM season?!

That whole line is a contradiction. If he thinks he is better he would not drop down a league he would have stayed to prove himself. The fact he dropped down suggests he knew he couldnt cut it at a higher level

No he dropped down because he wanted a longer contract! That was the main crux of my post! :?

Re: adebayo akinfenwa ?

No chance of signing him. The Beckham and Kalou rumours are more realistic. There is no chance a player as good as Akinfenwa would come to a Premier League team tipped to go down. He'll most likely go to Madrid on a free transfer which will be great business for him. He'd also be the best player in La Liga by some stretch.

Some of our fans are clueless honestly.

Can you explain how a player who willingly drops down a division thinks he is better than he is?

When bayo had his shooting boots on he was still capable of hitting the corner flag from 6 yards out.

I also think the original post was a serious one but modified along the way due to people's responses.
