IF, A VERY BIG IF AND AN UNLIKELY IF BUT . . . . .

Sun May 12, 2013 7:21 pm

If Vincent Tan decided to do a complete turnaround on the colour and made the Blue shirt the home kit and the red shirt the away, what would your feelings be towards him?

Not what you would feel about the turnaround but about VT himself ?

This is totally hypothetical and extremely unlikely but I wonder what people's perceptions of Vincent Tan would be if he done it.

I have always stated bar the rebrand then VT would be hailed/worshipped among City fans, I just wonder if people would forgive and forget.

Would those fans who walked away hurting, would they return under a return to blue and the club still run by VT?

I'd still think he's a bit of a prick, because some of the things he's said.

But I'd have a lot more respect for him, for listening to the fans and realising how important it is to some of us

You can never chastize a man for trying something.

I would forgive him and I think he could go down as the best chairman we have had if he did return us to blue and clearing our debts

He would be putting fans opinion in front of his overall business plan for the club, Id just assume he'd been well and truly bitten by the football bug. I'd be glad of course, and I'd assume he planned to stay at our club long term, which I feel is unlikely as it stands.

I always thought well of him for saving us from extinction ( I know opinion is divided) and thanked him for that but if he put us back in blue, then he will go up in my estimation even further :ayatollah: :old:

I think he would be a total legend with many but others already feel the damage is done.I hope this happens and maybe all the bickering can stop and we can all unite as one.Mr Tan do the right thing, does anyone know when the kit and badge designs have to be put in to the PL?

The fact that the man was dead set on turning us red and then changes it back to blue would speak volumes of the man and would command respect. It would send a clear message that he misunderstood the passion and tradition of football in this country, even though he wants to be making millions overseas....which I believe he can still make anyway.

So my answer? I would respect his adaptability as a businessman, instead of digging in his heels for his ego. It would be a calculated decision...not to be loved, he won't want our love...it's about keeping a balance. I'd respect that.

Carl, Tan would go down in my books then as the greatest Chairman CCFC has ever had and of course as long as Tan changes the debt he has created in to Shares/Equity as promised. :ayatollah:
But Tan wont change back and so I dont Respect him for taking our Identity away and that my opinion

I think alot of fans who have walked away would still feel alienated by the way the club is being run now, I'm basing this on what I've seen posted by the odd few who have openly said they dont go anymore such as TLG and that. To be honest I think it would be foolish to walk away from the club even if you dislike the owners.

To me the club is the most professional its ever been and its great to see regardless of my opinion of the rebrand.

I would like to know what fans would want the most, blue home shirts or all the debt turned into equity?

Imagine he said, we remain red and I change debt to equity (as is supposedly intention) or I will change us back to blue and hold onto my loans until someone else comes in.

I have highlighted your response Annis for one reason alone, debt to equity!

From the day the rebrand took place, the biggest and most important factor over everything else was settling the debt, not spending money on players and not PL football.

I pray that VT settles with Langston and then turns the debt to equity above everything else.

As you said I don't expect there to be change on the colour but I do expect and in some degree demand that he does everything in his power to settle Lamgston so he can carry out the promise of the debt to equity swap.

Good question, I would like to know other people's comments on this Wayne.

I don't think dragons protecting bluebirds is anything to do with his culture. It's just him looking for an excuse for the rebrand. It just highlights his lack of knowledge of football and disrespect for the game, the club, and lets not forget, the fans
