For those of you who have supported city for 21 years plus

I posted this on the other board but wanted to share here too!

On finally winning promotion to the premier league this season, it dawned on me what a crazy journey it has indeed been. It was a story that needed to be told for me with over 21 years of support.

So I felt inspired to make this video of footage that starts from January 1991 and my first city game Vs Lincoln City... we lost 0-1... Chris Pike missed numerous sitters... there probably was under 2,000 people in attendance... it was freezing.

After the game I remember asking my dad, "will we ever make it to the Premier League?"

The rest as they say is history... I hope you enjoy!

Thanks Annis, it was indeed a labour of love!

Believe me, it was a labour of love finding all the footage!

Started making it back in February, all the while praying we would actually win the league and make it to the prem in order to make the video relevant!

great video, really enjoied watching it... thanks :ayatollah:

This comment is not to "moan" about the rebrand or anything, but you know what? watching it, going through the early years up to the Carling Cup Final, I felt the passion again, that I had for Cardiff City. How we all felt after the shootout, the emptiness after losing to Blackpool, the anger after Black Friday but still the faith in our club, that one day we will make it. One day, its gonna be our season...you captured that feeling...
strangely I honestly didnt feel anything in the last part...

The last part?

I think we both know that's untrue.

Same here Stef, pure emotion throughout the first three quarters, nothing but an empty feeling regarding the promotion.

Great vid well done,it was nice to see the entire crowd moving forward when we scored I miss those days before the all seater stadium it also shows that success isn't all about the prem, whenever a goal was scored in the early part of the vid I had goosebumps.Great days with great fans and sadly missed.

Mate, this video is one of the best I have seen. Superb! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Genuinely sent tingles down my spine and my personal best moments were Campbell's goal at the Millennium Stadium and Jimmy-Floyd's goal against The Wolves (always liked that one, as it was simply the movement of a class player) :ayatollah:

Well done and thank you for posting :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

To some extent I know where you are coming from and I actually found the celebrations after the Bolton game a little flate. I later gave it some thought and considered the fact that we were on course for promotion for so long in the season that in the end it was simply a case of 'relief' rather than the unrequited 'joy' we would associate with a Cup win or one-off game ;)

For me, the 'other' issues never came into my mind :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Stef...that you?

Mate, it's strange. But at the end of the day they are are borrowing who we are. It's like finding out your brother is a xxxxxxxxxxxxx, whatever. He is still family. We might not like it, but we have to support.

I've always been of of the opinion that I will be here LONG after owners have filled their ego's and feck ed off!

Brilliant stuff - was at most of those games. Somehow managed to miss Liege (still regret that). Miss the days of surges and terraces. Like a few others must have something in my eye. Like many my time with City goes back more than twice as far and many many more bad times but I wouldn't change a thing. You have to endure all that to appreciate the good times. Just wish my dad (born in 1927 :) :) ) could have been here to witness the promotion. And in spite of the colour change no one person can rob me of MY/OUR club and certainly not my memories!
