So how are we going to rival Swansea's atmosphere?

Mon Apr 29, 2013 7:22 pm

I can't stand the jb's so don't think this is a loving with Swansea thread.

Swansea can and have created a cracking atmosphere at there small ground so why can't we?

Are we going to embarrass ourselves or are we getting behind the team next season, for a change!!

Our atmosphere has been poor all season!! Myself in the canton end and Craig (merlin) and his mates have really tried this season but we've had a struggle to be honest!

Our last couple of games it's been buzzing and found it hard to keep up with all the different chants!! Loved it!!!

Where the f**k have these singers been all season? Well that's another debate.

How can we as fans get it going next season? I dread to think what it's going to be like if we go one nil down!!

Maybe we should focus more effort in getting it bouncing, like a couldron rather than all the rebrand malarkey

Tbh I only used the jack b's angle to draw attention, everytime I've watched them they seem to produce a decent atmosphere in fairness

Well lets not adopt a shite rugby song by some fruit.

The jack fuckers only got one song

Underdogs next season, bigger clubs coming to the CCS
It should naturally be better

People need more effort, a few patches of the Canton really try but not everyone joins in

Impossible. How can we expect to compete with 18,000 jacks who have turned the Liberty into a fortnightly Bombonera?

Everyone in the country hasn't stopped going on about it in two years

No need to worry, the Jacks atmosphere is shit, they sing Hymns and Arias a few times and have a stupid drum banging throughout the whole game.

Stoke are famous for their"12th man"

Swansea aren't

Every game we play next season will be like a Cup tie the rest of the football world will be expecting us to lose and this will make our fans sing our hearts out.

I think the atmosphere will be very good at home next season. We'll be expecting to lose some games and that will get our fans behind the team. Then of course, there'll be big away followings at the CCS.

I disagree.

I think when we go a goal down fans will either boo, demand more or just blame it on the rebrand :D

Baz, first of all, I dont think the Jack's atmosphere, is quite as good as you've made it out to be. They sing a lot of shit rugby songs, and when they are losing, they are awful! Think it's to do with all the Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea fans in there.

Secondly, Our atmosphere will be MUCH better next season. Less expectation, Big teams visiting, (apart from the jacks of course as their attendance and following isn't quite as big as the other teams), the fact that we are in the premier league for a start will work wonders for the crowd noise, and the big crowds visiting us will spur us on too.

You are correct, we have had a blast towards the end of the season with being the ONLY WELSH team to win the championship, you only had to be in the Canton Cross pub saturday before the game to confirm this! The crowd has been dire at times at the CCS even with well over 21,22k in there, but you have to remember the level of expectation on us this season, especially with the rebrand effecting us in a bad way more than a good one.

Bring on 2013/14 - we will bring the house down.

Oh, and a big shout out to Ryan Gingell! he's kept the canton going for the best part of the season. Even when things looked bleak! BLUE ARMY! :malky:

I think it'll be good next season. Most of the singers from 118 coming over to the Canton, capacity crowd every game. Larger away support. No pressure, nerves etc..

Although its been great having 117/118 having a good go over the last few games :ayatollah:

Atmosphere will be much better next season as the stress and tension of wanting promotion is gone. Notice that the last few games where promotion was or was almost guaranteed, the atmosphere was far better! It's like the weight off the shoulders has been lifted

The Canton Stand is the supposed singing section so its good to see that you are taking responsiblity and not looking to blame others.

I'm sick of seeing stupid remarks about "happy clappers" who apparently sit in the Family, Grand and Ninian Stands and are to blame for the crap atmoshpere.

Frankly and to the point they are not, the failure to generate a good atmosphere lies squarely at the feet of the The Canton & Ninian Stands. That said the Canton espeically looked awesome on Saturday and you should look to replicate that as much as you can next season.

Central to the improved atmosphere recently has been the flurry of new songs and more effort should go into that.

It's a shame that passionate fans like yourself are being let down by the apathy within your own sections but really geeing them up is the only way ahead.

the pressure of the last few years has got to everyone, on the brink for 4/5 years and everytime everyone is nervous! as soon as that line was crossed you could see the relief on everyone faces, which lead everyone to relax and sing their hearts out!

next year we are the underdogs, we are not expected to do anything special, we should just go out and enjoy ourselves!

Letting everyone stand over the last 3 games has made a huge difference. I'm in Nnian117 and many more than usual have joined in with songs and no one has moaned about sitting down, that's the way it should be if we want the atmosphere to keep on improving.

Atmosphere has been awful for years its nothing new. It was great to start with against Bolton then it was awful after the 20 minute mark.

worst of all they have goal celebration music, f*cking tragic

our atmosphere will improve im sure in the premier league(still feels good saying that) the bhigh expection has gone and we will be the plucky underdogs again

Re: So how are we going to rival Swansea's atmosphere?

I think it'll be rocking next year.

Like people have said, we'll be underdogs in every game and that will encourage fans to get behind the team more.

Atmosphere was brilliant Saturday.

I'm a season ticket holder in Canton 106 and hope to have a sore throat after every game :ayatollah:

Off course our atmosphere is shit? All the other fans of the premier league are telling lies.
And when we are away (win draw or lose) the home fans sing swansea songs? .
.
Allso like the part from the original post (our small stadium).
Now ccsc is no Old Trafford now is it! In fact a difference of 6k.

Which equates to 30% of your crowd.
Quite a big difference eh? ;) :D

One thing for sure, your atmosphere was being called shit by your own fans on planet swans, when you were in the Championship.
Ours will now improve drastically too no doubt. (It's been great for a while now anyway though) :D
