Can't recall anyone booing him, if you mean the CCSC players evening - some heckling but he gave as good as he got.

Agree with your statement though

I heard a fair bit of booing in the canton before "we'll always be blue" was sung.

He gets absolutely NO respect from me.
I would tell him to his face as well.

ALWAYS A BLUE, NEVER A RED.

Saved us from the taxman, got rid of Jones, hired and backed MM and delivered Premiership football for the first time in 51 years.

I can never understand the mind set of those who put their own selfish preferences before the good of the team.

I do respect him for puttin his money where his mouth is but that's as far as it goes, getting up in the players do and harping on about lucky red was unnecessary and I am glad that a few tables ours included showed their discontent

Sometimes I just despair of some "fans" Disagree with some of the things VT has done but don't ignore where we are and his part in that :malky:

Re: TAN DESERVES SOME RESPECT

VT is a Cardiff City Legend. The man who saved the club from extinction and whose clever running of the club in appointing and backing Malky Mackay has seen us finally rise to the Premier League.

Even on the colour issue, he has been up front and seems willing to listen and compromise.

Cardiff City FC is like my favorite re-branded bar of chocolate.

Love the product, but the packaging I can discard as I wish. :D

He's done the product proud, shame about the wrapper.
I won't be looking at a different chocolate bar though. It's what's inside that counts for me. :malky:

Re: TAN DESERVES SOME RESPECT

Mon Apr 29, 2013 10:16 pm

its just about respect...

the guy has put the money in so he deserves that at the least.... not going down the red blue rd again, been done to death, but as an example yesterday i went to watch the newport v grimsby play off game... for anyone who would wish to go back to days like that crack on...

the standard of football was awful, i lost count the number of times the ball went over the stand! pitch was shit "bobbling everywhere" the officials were shocking... only good thing was the burgers were better than ours!

we had to queue for 30mins just to get through the gates for a crowd of just over 6000!

while pleased for newport and wrexham to maybe progress to the football league, not in a million years would i want to experience that again with the cardiff city!

Re: TAN DESERVES SOME RESPECT

Respect works both ways.Tan will get as much respect from me as he has shown us. Zero. This last few months he has shown himself to be an egotistical and slightly deranged man that doesn't give a shit about what the fans think.

unfortunately he is a business man and not a football man... i still cannot see what the point in the change has done, but its his business and his money hes putting in so we should be slightly grateful for that...

i will respect him more if he does what he said he would do in his plans last year, buy 1 sorting out the langston issue and the debt to equity swap..

Hmmm, now let ME see:

Erm, Tan saved the club (when no one else would)

Erm, Tan brought Malky to the club (forget the Shearer stories)

Erm, fans are effectively customers (they spend their hard-earned at the club)

Erm, when EXACTLY has he LIED to us? (The debt to equity issue will be sorted shortly)

Erm, took our colours? (He changed the colour of the shirt in exchange for a LOT of money and promotion)

Erm, Tan took our identity? (Are we no longer Cardiff City FC?)

Erm, Tan took our tradition? (What? Has he taken away our FA Cup win or our history?)

You must lead one perfect life to genuinely think Tan has been anything but good for Cardiff City FC

Sorted out our shambolic commercial side. Got some decent marketing done. Didn't interfere on the football side.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the words blue and red we'd be talking about the perfect owner here.

And it's not like he's doing the colour change for the wrong reasons either.

Do I agree with it? No, but I recognise he ain't doing it to spite us either.

Exactly.

It's the easiest thing in the world to just go ahead and support the re brand, you don't have to do anything, you just keep supporting the team as you were, you don't lose out on a thing. Some fans are so upset and angry at the insensitive way tan has gone about changing our colours and badge that they cannot and will not put money in his pocket, and have sacrificed something they love, they are losing out, yet they get accused of being selfish!!!

the good things that Tan has done for the club are tiny compared to the rebranding. Damned Yank got pretty close, if he hadnt done the rebrand, he would get the respect from everyone as he would be the perfect owner...

it always amazes me how people criticise but have no answers themselves to what the club could have done if tan had not invested
let me run it by you again if tan had not put his 6 million into the club this time two years ago we were non existant as a football club.
let me remind you we were in court facing a winding up order from HMRC who's barrister argued that despite tans money we should still be wound up because in his opinion we were trading insolvently.
as far as i can see us being an established premier league club is the best way to attract new owners who might revert us back to blue one day.
without tan investing that possibility would not exist

This is where you are completely away with the fairies. Tan doesn't give a dam about your view of a 'perfect owner', he is here to make money.

In his opinion he needed a rebrand and therefore went ahead with it. I'm not saying that is what I personally wanted but I am realistic enough to understand you don't get something for nothing and as the pay off was a massive investment (whether that is loaned or equity) then I was happy to live with it.

Sorry but fans like you have to man up and understand that like Father Christmas the 'perfect owner' really doesn't exist and if we want to make our way in the football world then we have to adapt and make the most of oppotunities that come our way.

I couldn't agree more Steve.

The problem is we have a certain small % of fans who are stuck in the past and simply don't understand that to survive as a club we have to earn more than we spend.

There is this romantic theory that to be a 'legend' any owner should shove £millions into a black hole and simply not worry about the economics of it all. Indeed haven't we been here before?

Sam Hammam did just that and was a legend right up to the point he hit his overdraft limit. At that point everyone turned on him including his beloved 'inner circle'

So why the hell should any very rich individual throw away their hard earned cash just so that someone like Hoffmiester will consider them a 'legend' or 'perfect owner' for a couple of years?

It is utter nonsense and that is why we NEVER get an explaination from fans like that to how exactly we are supposed to survive in the dog eat dog world of professional football.
