Agree to disagree and move on?

Mon Apr 29, 2013 3:05 pm

So we're champions after one hell of a season.

VT has shown a different side to him of late as Annis has said but remains adamant red remains.

So going into next season in a highly competitive league can we all unite behind Cardiff City FC?? Agree to disagree and respect each others views.

As a start can we have a seperate theme on the MB regarding rebrand and leave general chat to football chat?

Upward and onward.

Re: Agree to disagree and move on?

We can still unite as fans and still fight for what you believe in. Those who want to wear blue should continue to do so.

We'll always be blue ,We'll always be blue We're Cardiff City We'll always be blue :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
I will be chanting this at every opportunity next season , but I wont abuse anyone for their views its their choice

Anyone else agree that rebrand issues should have own section in forum??

Re: Agree to disagree and move on?

Disagree. Messageboards are all about different opinions.

This messageboard is for talking about all things relating to Cardiff City and the rebrand has been the most talked about Cardiff City related topic since it happened.

There isn't a hope in hell of that happening and quite rightly to. The rebrand is one of the most important things ever to have happened to Cardiff City and it should be debated, time and again if necessary.

Re: Agree to disagree and move on?

Tue Apr 30, 2013 5:24 pm

True, we and VT have different views on it - but people will always stand by their beliefs.

Don't think this is a situation where we can agree or disagree.

Don't think we should have an extra section for rebrand issues, either. It would open up a can of worms. People would then say we should have extra sections for Jacks, topics about the finances.. All sorts of things.

Fair point, And yes it would be good if we could, But lets be honest, Fans in red tops fans in Blue silent disgruntles undertones of be trail, City are up now so why don't everyone buy and ware Blue peaceful protest and still giving club shop financial support by purchasing the blue kit, or the yellow kit, but not the Manure kit. How stupid we will look chanting BlooooBirds and sporting Red tops, We will look like the most segregated and un-unified set of supporters ever to grace the Premiership period. Sad as fook that for all the achievements we go to the Prem with an identity crisis for all the world to see. How fkt up is that?

JonCCFC, I totally agree that Message Boards are all about 'different' opinions and you and I are Poles apart on some issues surrounding our beloved club; but (as you know) I do respect your right to have a say ;)

You quote: "...the rebrand has been the most talked about Cardiff City related topic since it happened" and the unfortunate FACT is that you are 100% correct on that point and that is wholly what disappoints me at this time in our history

We have had a wonderful promotion winning season, bankrolled by a man with money and ambition (regardless of what some think despite not knowing him), record crowds, banishment of The Blues (and I don't mean the kit  ) a superb manager and a team to be proud of

For us, it is the Premier League for next season and yet this 're-brand' is all that some want to talk about :(

It disappoints me hugely. Does it not you (even a little)? :ayatollah:

Our identity is intact so long as the name remains and 'success' is surely the aim of any club? Otherwise, what is the point of their existence? :? :ayatollah:

You could also argue existence is more important than colour?

Ive never understood this rubbish that we are stupid chanting bluebirds when we are in red. We used to chant it when we played in different colours pre rebrand and nobody batted an eyelid.

Our identity is a number of different things - by taking the shirt colour away and the bluebird from being dominant, those are 2 things which are part of the make up of our identity. ;)

So yes, he has taken some of our identity and traditions.

It's not solely success that's part of it though, eh? If you just wanted success, you'd be supporting United or Barca or someone. Surely? ;)  :malky: :D :old:

I define identity not just with the name, but by 3 things:

Name: Cardiff City FC
Crest: The Bluebird (as the main feature)
Colours: Blue/White (with yellow trim)

2/3 of our identity has been destroyed

I ask because you say our identity is blue/white with yellow trim. Well apart from a couple of years in the 70's and a few years from 2007 to 2010 we never had yellow trim.

well, yellow was always like an unofficial 3rd colour, many of our away shirts were yellow, flags, scarves etc we had yellow incorporated... blue and white are our colours

Each to his/her own ;)

But it is my personal opinion that (red apart) our club is still our club and I am happy to stay behind Malky and his team no matter what and (even though I would prefer to stay blue) I also appreciate what Vincent Tan has done for Cardiff City FC in the wider (and economical) sense ;)

Given the choice of club or no club I don't have to think to hard to know which I'd prefer (red shirts or not) ;)

sorry if that doesn't fit in with your negative agenda but that's how (in reality) it is ;) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Dancing dragons, Malaysian flags, the words Malaysia on the kit & a complete rebrand for the easten markets...

Yet the club couldn't be bothered to do anything for St. David's day....

I'd say it was a fair comment. It obviously still represents Cardiff (I never actually said it didn't  ) yet, it doesn't AS MUCH AS IT USED TO (in my opinion ;) )
