Genuinely feel gutted for the lad. All ready and stripped off to come on, just waiting for the ball to go out to come on and McNaughton goes down injured and Malky is forced to make a defensive change. He isn't having any luck at all, it was last game of the season, 5 minutes left coulda just brought him on in front of the home crowd. Feel so gutted for him. He HAS to play at Hull now surely

Agree. Gutted for him.
Sat Apr 27, 2013 6:04 pm
think hes been treated shockingly to be honest, gutted for him today ready to come on then kev goes down, dont know why malky didnt put him on with half hour to go ,rudy is shite and im sure etien would,ve done more .just hope we actually get to see him next year .

Sorry but I don't think he has been treated badly. Malky has picked a team that has won the championship and didn't think the lad was good enough. Sad but true.
When he is good enough we"'ll see him

to be fair hes never been given a chance ,yet rudy does and hes garbage at best ,i know the team has done well but he could have at least had the odd run out sometimes .
Sat Apr 27, 2013 6:30 pm
i thought ruddy has improved in the run in
Sat Apr 27, 2013 6:30 pm
regardless of what happened today you've got to feel sorry for the player.
what a disaster the whole affair has been. i dont think i've ever seen that at this level, a player signed for £1m and not given a single game all season? not even loaned out to get match practice and see what he can do? whats going on
Sat Apr 27, 2013 6:44 pm
should of gave the lad a start today, won the league already so no harm in playing him from the start, gutted for eti hes worked his ass off in the reserves this season and deserved a little game time, not malkys fault kev got injured though and had to make the change but eti could of started game
Sat Apr 27, 2013 6:58 pm
I thought Rudy was pretty good today tbh. Etien was definately unlucky. I guess if Bolton had nothing to play for Malky would have just sent him on for kev but you dont want to be the team accused for f*cking about and gifting someone a playoff/autos berth

I think Rudy had a poor game today and should have been replaced well before the 80th minute when he was about to be replaced by Etien. By the time he had got on he would have had about 6 or 7 minutes of football at the most. We then had to get Nugent on instead. He should have been given a 30 minute run out.

I do blame Malky for the Velikonja situation because Smiths introduction made no sense whatsoever.
Ever since his return from injury he has been absolutely woeful.
What was he going to learn putting Smith on he doesn't know already?
Oh and by the way Smith was absolutely horrific once again!
Sat Apr 27, 2013 7:45 pm
He deserves a start against Hull now. All this talk about him "finally getting his chance", 10 minutes from the end is hardly a chance now is it. Justice for Etien!
Sat Apr 27, 2013 9:00 pm
for me personally,
I think rudy is as effective as fortune west, gavin gordon, andy campbell, eddie johnson, warren feeney with two left feet etc etc,
maybe even dai thomas on a good day
Sat Apr 27, 2013 9:31 pm
I really don't understand the Velikonja situation. To pay that money for him Malky must have once thought he would benefit our team. Something's obviously gone down behind the scenes which Malky isn't happy with.
I think he's got a lot to offer and although I think Rudy's improved I still think Etien would score more goals and put it about more.
Hope he starts at Hull.
If not he might as well go home to Maribor

My sentiments exactly. Why the hell bring Smith on? We need absolutely nothing from the game, getting nothing from it and bring on a player who has been poor since he came back from injury. That should have been Velikonjas chance there and then. I really think there's something he doesn't like about him, all season he's not had a look in, last home game and he snubs him for Smith (OK be was gonna bring him on but only for 10 mins before McNaughton got injured).
Sat Apr 27, 2013 9:53 pm
Can't see him being here in August.
Sat Apr 27, 2013 10:03 pm
People who slag rudy off know nothing about football. He's shown alot of fans wrong this season and he had another good game today. I agree that Etien should have come on instead of Smith.
Sat Apr 27, 2013 10:19 pm
Totally gutted for him & City. Had this belief he would grab the winner & was hoping he'd come on & Gunnarson go right back. Hope he uleashes the beast pre season & Hull
Sat Apr 27, 2013 11:52 pm
There are people far worse off the Velikonja.
Sun Apr 28, 2013 12:10 am
Luck is just not with him right now!
Sun Apr 28, 2013 3:17 am
Thought rudy has really upped his game the last few weeks, was really gutted for eti tho, told him in the players do, seems a nice kid
Sun Apr 28, 2013 7:52 am
Malky knows best, hes gotta be ruthless, no time for taking chances if hes unsure about players... But i gotta admit i was gutted when he sat back down on the bench..

Totally agree with you but Smith? Talk about jobs for the boys he shouldn't be anywhere near the side he's that bad since his injury lay off. Plays like he got concrete in his boots!

Etien should have been loaned out in January, nothing will ever change my opinion on this.Malky has never planned on giving much of a run out so what has been gained.
Rumour has it booze is the source of the problem

it's not. Fecking football manager game, play him on that if you want but leave the Championship winning Manager to pick our team he has done a fantastic job and knows, who are strongest and weakest players.
I do feel gutted that he missed his chnce to come on mind, but if he is good enough and has the right attitude he can play well in training and try and get a game against Hull or next season, good luck to him
