THIS IS OUR BIGGEST TROPHY NO DOUBT

Fri Apr 26, 2013 10:07 am

We have lived for years over our FA cup win, a bit special because of our location and all that goes with it, but in real terms this trophy and promotion is a much bigger prize in prestige and reward terms.

It would have been great to beat Portsmouth when we played them, but who'd swap places with them now, still can't get my ahead around what we really have achieved, this is massive and I for one intend enjoying and lapping up every moment of it.

Bugger swapping places with them gwyn and promotion to the top league in football as we know it beats them all. I have been working near plymouth argyles ground near enough for the last week or so and talking to there fans now thats doom and gloom compared to us i know its worlds apart, it wasnt so long ago they turned us over on boxing day at home i told them. How times have changed as now they got players all chipping in to get the petrol to go to training ffs

Definitely a much bigger achievement considering the rewards and massive global exposure.

It still hasn't sunk in with me but as I missed the Charlton and Burnley games I'm looking forward to lapping it all up tomorrow and finally realising what we have done.

That said I probably won't still believe it until I see the fixture list on June 19th.

In terms of the achievement it's bigger than the FA Cup (even in 2008)

In terms of trophy the FA Cup is probably still better.

Funny how when we won promotion it wasnt bigger than an FA cup during the middle ages, when you do it its bigger than the world cup.

So when did you win the C'ship, you went up through the playoffs, at the end of the day we will both be in the Prem but two totally different ways of doing it. You lot went into the one game lucky did, and Cardiff City come out on top after 46 games. I know what I would say is the way to do it, and it's not the playoffs :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah:

When we won the FA Cup it wasn't like it was now, it was THE trophy.

So I don't think this is bigger but it is certainly an amazing achievement!! :ayatollah:

Re: THIS IS OUR BIGGEST TROPHY NO DOUBT

Fri Apr 26, 2013 2:34 pm

I don't think it is.

The FA Cup is by far the bigger trophy to win.

Re: THIS IS OUR BIGGEST TROPHY NO DOUBT

We've certainly worked harder this season than 1927 but a welsh team took the english FA Cup out of England for the only time so I think the FA Cup is our biggest trophy..

So if at the start of the season you were given the choice of winning the FA cup or the Championship, which would yu have chosen.

There would have been only one choice for me. :old:

That the diff between the achievment and the trophy though.

As an achievement, promotion to the Prem is bigger than the FA Cup. But then so is, coming second and winning the play-offs.

It's bigger for the club, players to attract. The city etc etc.

As a part of your heritage to win the FA Cup is probably bigger.

As a Championship club the FA Cup is huge.

It's all relative. Bradford winning the League Cup would have been huge. Had we won it, it would have been bigger than when Swansea won it. But Swansea winning the League Cup put's them into another level (Europe) so is bigger than us winning the Championship.

However in terms of trophy to trophy the Championship title is a very prestigious trophy in football history and to be the first to take it out of Wales is huge in of itself.

Dozy twats. No fucker gives a feck about how you go up. Give me a wembley final anyday. Theprize is promotion not the 2nd tier title. So I guess it was worth all those years of feck ups and the tens of millions of pounds lost just to win a trophy that the top sides in the country hope they never win.
You won you Trophy in front of a few hundred at Burnley we won ours at the home of football in front of 43000 of our fans. As far as luck goes 3 sides go up we finished third.

How about winning the fa cup or just promotion? Again only one winner for me.

Re: THIS IS OUR BIGGEST TROPHY NO DOUBT

Think the FA Cup, as a trophy, has to be considered the biggest.

Promotion to the Premier League will bring bigger rewards, and exposure.

Personally, I think that people forget that we finished joint top of the English pyramid system (losing out on the trophy only due to goal difference). THAT IS OUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT!!!

You total c**t bag. We won the championship! You said it you finished 3rd. As for 43k? How come everyone else gets 32k for finals at wenbley? You will tell me next you had 20k in your promotion season next when we all know it was around 13k at the ospreys stadium that season.
Take your rose tinted glasses off for f**k sake.

Wow. We would rather win a game of football 4-0, whilst you lot would rather get a bigger attendance. Looks like your bigger gates have proved a big advantage on the field and off. Hasn't it?
Can somebody also explain how we got a crowd of over86000 with only 32k allocation? I fact pretty sure you lot only had 82000 hmm strange.

Re: THIS IS OUR BIGGEST TROPHY NO DOUBT

If you think this is our biggest trophy then you clearly don't rate the FA cup highly.

It is the same prize as the 2nd place team and the play-off winner, in fact the play off winner gets more money than the first placed team. There are only 24 entrants and not one top flight team involved.

Anyone actually trying to convince themselves it's a major trophy are deluded in the extreme, or should let Alex ferguson know immediately, I'm sure he will get relegated in an instant to then challenge for the second tier title.

The FA Cup is one of the most prestigious trophies in the world so this is a no. The FA Cup is a coveted member of the treble, the one everyone wants to win in the UK. The one only Manchester United have done as far as I can remember.

As for the Jack, you finished third to get promoted you imbecile so your trophy is nothing more than a melted down intertoto cup.
