THE CONTINUED USE OF SMOKE GRENADES

Tue Apr 23, 2013 6:28 pm

As most will know, there have been smoke grenades used at Sheffield Wednesday, Peterborough, Watford and Burnley, plus they have been used at home.

I am just informing fans that the lad who was caught at Peterborough has received a 3 year ban, a fine and community service.

Is it worth risking your chance to see Premier League football and doing community service and paying a fine, truthfully I don't think it is.

Use your heads guys if you are thinking of using them, it is not worth the risk.

He got off lightly, the Chelsea lads who were caught with them in Swansea had a jail term and a six year ban, and they hadn't even let them off.

Why would you risk losing your football at this stage over some coloured smoke.

If this sort of offence comes before a district Judge a prison sentence is almost certain.

The resident district judge in Cardiff Mags is likely to take a dim view of possession of these smoke grenades. Please bear this in mind if you are thinking of possessing one.

Think of people with asthma/respiratory problems. It could cause real harm to them.

I must admit I quite like them. Used properly they don't do any harm.

At Peterborough they were thrown which is bloody stupid.

I know the lad who done it at peterborough, he told me today his sentence and I told him how lucky he was. He said if he behaves he'll get his ban reduced to two years.

Pretty sure there were two on the pitch after the Charlton game. I'm assuming they'll be getting a knock on the door soon and the same punishment due to all the TV coverage.

I always toss smoke grenades on MW2 anyway.

I am glad the lad got off lightly but it won't seem that way to him now he is banned...if he went to a South Wales court he would almost definitely have been given a custodial sentence...lets hope that is the end of them now.

I think they're class, but I would never be stupid enough to bring one into the ground myself!

I just cant understand why people would risk getting banned
Join the army cadets if youve got an urge to let smoke bombs and fireworks off

Tell the judge, he may act leniently and only jail you for three months instead of six.

I'm not condoning what he did at all, was a bloody stupid thing to do as I told him on the phone.

Anyone who thinks about doing something like this needs to think twice, as it is not worth it, extremely foolish and gives you a record.

Just spoke to the lad now who got caught and he was saying because he wasn't the one who launched it on the pitch that's why he got of lightly, if he launched it on the pitch he would be looking at a suspended sentence. He is absolutely gutted!

I was gutted when one of the grenades that we're thrown narrowly missed my 7 year old grandson's head, a nice welcome to his first away trip.At least 3 of them were just chucked down the front by the goals where we were standing.I can't see the point of them and they're dangerous ,ban all who use them.
