Some very good news??

Sat Apr 20, 2013 9:59 pm

I'm not one for rumours, I never post things unless I know they there is a very good chance they are true. But today I was talking to a bloke I have become friends with who works for the club in a fairly senior position. This fella knows how I feel about the re brand (against it) and has told me in previous conversations I have had with him over the last few months how there are plenty of people that work within the club that are far from happy with it, but of course unless they want to be out on their arse, they just have to put up with it.
Today we had both had a few bevvies so obviously his tongue was a bit loose, anyway he kept on grinning like a cheshire cat which I obviously thought was down to the promotion and title triumph, but then out of the blue (pun intended) he told me that there had been some talk around the club over the last week that suggests that, since Tuesday, Vincent Tan may have had a change of heart over the kit colour.

Well I looked at him and burst out laughing as I thought he was taking the piss. He didn't bat an eyelid though, just continued grinning and said to me that he believed that it may well be true.

You don't have to believe it of course, I probably wouldn't myself, but I am now grinning just as madly as he was. :D

Interesting. He is fully confident in his interviews about the rebrand, I do question what he is like after he says it.

Bloody hell, I hope not.

Throwing away all the red history, not to mention the luck we have had. When was the last time we were promoted to the top league in a blue kit. We are in red now and we were in white in 1960.

Anyway I've got used to it now.

Next season we could finish 5th or 6th in a red kit. In blue we may not survive.

:D

It would be brilliant to have the fans united again. Keep those fingers crossed :D

After his interview on Tuesday where his first sentence was "lucky red" with a smile on his face I was f*cking fuming. However when I cooled down something about that interview told me he knew the rebrand had been a mistake.

I live in hope.

You think he was joking? Like self deprecation comedy or whatever? As if yeah I was wrong and I know it get over it sort of thing? Heres hoping.

If Tan changes us back to blue, not saying it will happen, he will be idolised.

No chap. It is something I wish not to see again.

I think he said 'lucky red' with tongue in cheek, really

Guy gets told a story by another guy whilst they're both under the influence of alcohol.
During it he hears all the things he wants to..

That's about the size of it. Wouldn't you be delighted if it turned out to be true?

Would love this to be true, I'd be ecstatic, even help build a statue of the man! Unfortunately doubt it tho.

No chance whatsoever of the home shirt changing back to blue. The badge stays the same

Re: Some very good news??

To be honest the red doesn't bother me along as the blue away kit is kept. But what really grips my sh*t is that ridiculous badge. Tan can keep his lucky red superstitions if we can have our old badge back. I'd be happy with that compromise :ayatollah:

Non starter, won't happen at all

I would love it to happen believe me but I really cant see Tan doing any kind of U-turn surrounding the home shirt.

Please don't get my hopes up. I would be celebrating more than when we won promotion if we went back to blue.

Re-interview, lucky red was said twice by Tan. I took it as, he had been proved correct in his decision to go red !

i agree old badge on red kit and blue away(compromise)

this current badge is ..............

At the very least a red/blue split kit and bigger bluebird would be brilliant, a full return to blue and the old badge - HEAVEN

Can't see it happening. The grin on Tan's face as he walked onto the pitch, in his red shirt, whilst thousands applauded all-but confirms that, I think.
