sorry MARGARET...but you are not worthy of

a state funeral.....simple as that. :ayatollah:

Re: sorry MARGARET...but you are not worthy of

The British people seem to think otherwise :malky:

Far more people on the streets than expected and a very respectful atmosphere, any protesters drowned out by people applauding Mrs Thatcher and a spontaneous burst of applause and 3 cheers for her when the family came out of St. Paul's.

Another bad day for the bitter and loony left

oh dear, the bitterness is quite laughable

Were you one of the ones who believed the inflated figures that CND calimed for their marches back in the 1980's as well? They proved to be successful as well, didn't they - if they had mind, we'd all be speaking Russian now.

I'm quite pleased with today - everything went off very well, and I now support a premier league team as well - at least we can both "rejoice" in that

OK, fair enough, but look at the amount of money she personally saved the country by getting us the EU Rebate - no politician of any colour would dispute that was down to her persistence, and we're talking billions there (currently 5 billion a year), not a mere 10 million.

Here's a link if you're interested and want to look at it in an non-biased way.

Details?

The BBC is giving a lot of air time to those against Thatcher.

But no sign of a big protest.

Re: sorry MARGARET...but you are not worthy of

She was Prime Minister and as such deserves the state funeral but at the most basic level as a human she is entilted to be laid to rest with dignity and that has happened.

Leave the rest to the historians because she can't affect our lives any longer. But when we ALL join her in hell that's another thing altogether. ;)

I expect it just wont be shown today. Sky news is on a loop so im sure it will be mentioned again. They said people were throwing things at the horses which got them spooked even though they are trained not to.

Well, I can believe that part, as that's the kind of moronic thing that people who want to protest at a funeral would be capable of.

Massive protests though      just a few really sad people more like ;)

No, the twits that could be bothered to use a days holiday 'think otherwise'. If there was any point whatsoever to protesting in London today, I would be there. Unfortunately there isn't any point because David Cameron, not Thatcher, decided that we needed to . We shouldn't be paying for this at the moment.

However, we got to see George Osborne blubbing like a 5 year old and I for one am happy to chuck in my 20p for that.

agree again, who are these people? I understand people dont like her and thats fine, ive known people I dont like who have died but I havent rocked up at their funeral informing everyone and anyone who will listen how much of a prick they were, it shows no respect.

Do I expect people to have a sudden Thatcher love in with open armed forgiveness.....NO

Do I expect people to have a certain level of respect and decorum around the time of someones funeral.....YES

Not sure economic impact is the best way to decide the level of ceremony you give someone when they pass... According to your system Nelson Mandela should be dropped in an unmarked grave and Bob Diamond should be carried through the streets to fanfare.
