I was, im 29, but i can remember playing the likes of York, mansfield, wrexham, torquay, etc at ninian park !.. Mainly in the canton end but switched to the grange after a while. Phil Stant, chris pike, nathan blake, gavin ward etc as far back as i can remember. Ive had a few pitch invasions too at a young age, and that was from celebrating a goal, not promotion !.. Haha.... Good times, but rubbish football....

I can recall going to ninian park to watch Cardiff play taffs well in the welsh cup, drew 0-0 only 935 in the ground, even went to the reply, where we sneaked through 1-0

I was there.

Remembering numerous matches against Wigan when they were on the rise, Fulham when they were on the rise and many other matches where we were truly terrible. Matches where we had more empty seats than Wigan at Wembley, no standing areas as we didn't need them, match balls heading into the streets around the ground....

I never want to go back there. Dark days.

I've been slogging through the highs and lows since 1967. I'm sure they'll continue into next season. :ayatollah:

First game 1975 - favourite season 82-83, that was a good side, tho late 70's was enjoyable, S'land, Chelsea, W.Ham. Spurs... atmosphere could be quite highly charged at times, and thats what you remember oh, and the annual scrap against relegation, but I remember feeling pleased when we finished 9th under Richie Morgan. Didnt last tho.

Enjoyed Stant and Dale era, dont go now, still love football but dont like the all seats and the prices and too many foreign players...

Now and again in the 80s we'd have a game of cards on the Bob Bank, sometimes less than 2kin the ground, sad days, but in a way more enjoyable because you could just watch a game of football, without the pressure of having(or wanting to win), if we lost 3-1 at home to York, who cares. We did have some bloody awful players tho', Andy Kerr I remember as being particularly bad,Withey, Meacock etc........... but because you're so madly in love with the city, you forgive them next day.

Good times, good people, nice to see em in the top flight, wisht when I was a teenager they were.

Cheers

I was there. In fact I was having a pint in the westgate after the game and was wearing my "lucky" city shirt from the early/mid 90's (influence, South Wales echo, carl dale etc) when a city fan commented on it saying he liked it and asked if I'd bought it off eBay!

No mate I was there whilst you were probably watching Man U on TV

Since the late '70's and this is why this week is going to be so important. Never a scarfer but will wear a vintage City shirt on Tuesday underneath casual clobber - and there is only one shirt. Let's enjoy this. And we'll always be Blue.

Used to love my trip to see Lincoln City. My brother still up there so its my stop off point for the Hull game, regardless of whether we have tickets! Also been Grimsby too, must have been roughly 15 years ago. Lincoln game i wnet to there were only about 100 there and the tw*t in Lincoln end banging his drum all game. Sure Leo playing that day. :ayatollah:

Let's not forget those that were there in those days also used to go and see Villa, L'pool, Dunfermline, Spurs, Chelsea etc

They tend to forget that when talking about plastics.

We have never been crap in my eyes just under achievers opponents dragging us down to their level and the whole rugby and football hierarchy was against us :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Depends what you mean with this question. My first game was in 1974 but I wasn't a season ticket holder until 2004.

So I could claim to have "been there in the dark days of the lower leagues" but that is not absolutely true as I didn't go to every home game, but since getting a season ticket I have missed about half a dozen home games over 8 seasons.

I sometimes wonder if this is the case with many others who claimed "to been there when we were crap" when the truth is they went rarely when we were crap but now regularly when we hit the second tier.

Been going since 1970 and loved the Adrian Alston, Tony Evans era remember Robin Friday and terrible players like Billy Woof and Kevin Meacock. Chelsea 3-3 game when it kicked off everywhere and I remember the dark dark days under Durban :(

The Cadmam consortium, Phil Neal, Gery Francis, Terry Hibbit, Gerry Francis, Eddie Mays Barmy Army some great and not so great memories

I am of the opinion that you have to experience the bad times to really appreciate the good times and that's why if we do it Tuesday it wil be a little bit special for myself and others who started supporting City around the same time :old: :malky:
