I AM NOT ASHAMED TO SAY IT

Sat Apr 13, 2013 7:37 pm

Today I shed a tear when celebrating the second goal today, I was overcome with emotion, I have felt highs following City on several occasions, but today was different, even though we have still not mathematically achieved our goal, the sense of realisation hit me and it was a brilliant feeling.

It was everything about today, the build up to the game after conceding late to Barnsley on Tuesday, Forest on an unbeaten run of 10 games, a record attendance for our stadium, Watford were losing when we got the 2nd goal, the celebrations that followed Rudy's first.

I celebrated with my daughter and probably hugged here tighter than I should have and somehow ended up standing on my seat without even realising I jumped up, I think it was others grabbing hold of me that lifted me on to my seat.

I hope that others felt the same way today as that was a special feeling that I know I won't experience too many times in football but I will never forget it.

This season has been a long season, I don't know if it is because of the way the fixtures have been set up and perhaps the headache that has provided in organising the away trips but today made it all worth while and I am looking forward to enjoying the ride for the last four games.

I held it together today, but Tuesday will be different if we finally achieve our goal. Its going to be a great relief to finally get over that hurdle and reach the promised land. Feeling on top of the world tonight and were not there yet, god help me when we finally do. :ayatollah:

I got a bit emotional at the final whistle. Looking up the Canton and seeing everyone with their arms in the air was special. And seeing the whole ground doing the Ayatollah and Malky fist pump was an amazing sight. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I had a lump in my throat once we scored the second, the fans were great today, the hairs on the back of my neck were up with the chanting today, brought back a lot of memories. :ayatollah:

Absolutely buzzing today after that game. Loved it and it was great to say the fans go wild. Today showed how much it meant to the fans. And as I said I think the reason for the poor atmosphere is the nerves, once we know we're up itll be a party and so will next year. :ayatollah:

I have to admit Carlos, I enjoyd today and the previous 2 games, because there was finally an atmosphere and our fans sung from their hearts. :ayatollah:

Yes great football today and over the years Ive shed many a tear during and after City games, from relegations to promotions,to beating Leeds Utd etc. I am happy tonight, but if only we could have done all this with our identity, then going to the promised land I would of shed many a tear with you.
I have nothing but praise for Malky and and his battling Trojans :ayatollah: :malky: :malky: :malky: :ayatollah:

Carl. I know what you mean and the last time I felt like that was after the Millennium Stadium win exactly 10 years ago next month :ayatollah:

I think the whole place erupted at the final whistle (well, those that stayed to the end ;) ) but I couldn't help notice how peeved Annis looked when Malky failed to do the 'Malky' at the end :o :?

Understood it Tueday (the Malky thing) but not after a performance like today's) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Great post Carl I understand and share the emotions with you. I was so down on Tuesday absoutely gutted over what was a freak goal. But when Rudy buried that header today the grey clouds lifted and both my grandson and I were up chanting Rudy, then Bluebirds and anything else that came to mind. I wasn't going to go today but after some of crap I have watched over the last 47 years how can you not be there, at this time, supporting this manager and this wonderful squad of players.

We are so close now and I just cannot wait for Tuesday night when we will get the point we need. I will be thinking of my dad when it happens, thinking about what it would have meant to him and then I'll shed tear.

Probably floods of them.

Poor Tommy was hugged tightly as each of the goals went in. When the 3rd went in I went absolutely ballistic. JUst got in after 12 hour day. Voice has gone-lubricating it with some red wine.
