You don't need sat nav out there, they don't go fast enough so you should see all the sign posts

The west coast of Amrrica mate. Karl i have looked at downloading it on to mine but can only find Europe. Just looked on Amazon and for £30 including postal i can hire one off them. Thats one option.

It's done on the GPS on the iPhone, doesn't use data.
You can buy tomtom/ garmin with USA maps but thy are quite expensive. Or just buy a cheapo 1 while your out there. Rental companies do charge a lot for hire as others have said
