PETER WHITTINGHAM IS A COWARD.

Tue Apr 09, 2013 10:02 pm

Absolute joke that people say he's a professional , to me a professional works on all aspects of his/her game in all sports. Whittingham doesn't head a ball or tackle, he has the ability to do the attacking side of the game but defensively he's shite. If he is not in good form that is because he isn't working hard in training, when I see the lads warming up before the game I see Conway, Bellamy, Kev and crew busting a gut. These are the true pros. I look at Whitts and he just lazes around strolling like rules don't apply to him.

When i see him miss headers, chicken out of tackles and live in his own world when training I can now start to see it translating to the rest of his game. Hence being out of form.

Overall, he's not committed enough to this Cardiff City cause and I'd rather see Ralls or even Kiss get in the side as they always give their all.

Whitts has always been laid back, thats his style, he isnt going to run around like a mad man but thats not his game.
He has lost a bit of form but still a top player who deserves respect imo

You earn respect, its not a god given right for talented footballers. If he's not going to put himself on the line for his team or produce his best for 4 months, I won't be praising him. I don't have any respect for any footballer who doesn't give his all.

Great he crossed a ball under no pressure, not saying he's a poor player. He just doesn't seem very committed to me.

Don't agree with you.

He is an excellent, talented footballer who is out of form and short on confidence who is not suited to games where a midfield battle is going on.

For these reasons he should not be in the squad at the moment because he is offering none of the qualities which we require to grind out the results we need.

He is certainly not a coward though.

It was Kimbo's corner.

Conceding or Turners? If Turners, he must be a really good corner taker on the bench considering it was Kim who put it in :ayatollah:

He has earned my respect by scoring a hell of a lot of goals over the years he has been with us. Showing loyalty to the team in that time. IMO this season he has put in a shift, tackled (although not always well). He is lacking form atm but thats usual for a player.

Do you lack respect for Mutch? he was shit for about 5 months? or does your respect change dependent on form?

My mistake it was Kim anyway.

Don't agree with you though. Whits has been quality for us. Not all players steam into tackles and headers

No on effort. How much passion they have for our club. And their attitude towards working hard. Trust me if you paid you or me 20k plus a week i or you would put in a fair shift. That means doing all you can to help your team and on a personal level play your hobby in front of a supportive (mostly) crowd of thousands.

So you wouldnt want a Berbatov or a Cantona type player for us?
Running around like a headless chicken doesnt make you a better player. If it did Don Cowie would start every week for Manchester United.

I wont deny Whitts is out of form but over the years he has been exceptional for us and kept us in many many games.

Whitts never goes in 100% to win the ball back even when its right next to him, he nearly always pulls out, and he nearly always pulls out if he has to go up with his head. He is never going to cut it in the prem.

I never said he was a poor player, I said he's a poor professional. I think whitts is a great player but I'd respect him more if he put in an effort to improve his physical game, this will enable him to tackle hard and chance down the ball, right now he just stands there and demands the ball. I didn't explain myself properly before, in the circumstances of the last 10 main (sitting back, shocking decision) a player who would tackle and head (like Kiss) would be more prudent.

So you wouldnt want a Berbatov or a Cantona type player for us?

We have some f*cking eejits following this club to be fair. Whitts is mainly an attacking player and he shouldn't need to do these things but when he's called upon he does them. Last season he was superb in his tracking back making a few last ditch tackles. He's a laid back player and works better while others do the dirty work.

If Whitts cant play in his preferred position then he ain't interested. Not good. But put him in his right position and he is quality. For that Malky is wrong and wrong to play him so deep. But hey we are top so he can't be doing to much wrong is he ? But what will his tactics be next season ? Hmmmmmmm

Have a look at the Birmigham game at home from the start of the season. Whitts chased someone back and made 1 of the best tackles I have seen this season. Yes he's out of form but still 1 of our best players on his day! Why so many quick 2 be so critical of our players and manager I don't understand. They are on the brink of getting us 2 the Premiership and they have ALL played their part through the season so lets get behind them for the final few and ENJOY

Hes a "poor proffesional" because he cant tackle, which is not one of his strengths

Fair play you are an idiot.

Calling Whitts a coward is a bit strong but if people think he had a good game last night they are having a laugh.

He contributed absolutely NOTHING and we went from an attacking midfield to a defesive one allowing them to press against us.

His corner was poor and his challenges non existent. Not blaming him solely for the draw but please take off those rose tinted glasses when it comes to his performance this season.

I still believe we will get promoted, as champs, not sure but we need to give other a chance as well - Etienne being one :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :old:

Come on here for a browse this morning and I read this. Calling him that after all he has done for our club since he has joined is disgraceful and disgusting. He has been our stand out player every season and granted he hasn't been hitting those heights of late but to call him that shows what a fickle shit fan you are. No loyalty towards a player who is possibly the closest we have to a Cardiff legend that is still playing.

Not a coward.

However, did anyone else notice that he didn't move off the bench until he was asked to come on, no warming up... Now I wasn't staring at the bench continuously but every time I looked over he was sitting there arms folded, he was only lacking a good book or crossword.

I suppose all of this is why he's in the Championship and not the PL. :old:

There are many top players who aren't any good at tackling and you only have to look at Paul Scholes as a prime example of that.
